That Kardashians scene was totally fricking obnoxious. You can refer to the kids, especially in the situation that OJ tries to kill himself in their bedroom. But come the frick on, totally unnecessary in that scene.

I started laughing when they did the cheer. My wife asked my I was laughing and I said this show is saying that the O.J. Bronco chase was the day their reality tv career started.

Well, I think it kinda was.

I remember the first time I heard of the show keeping up with the Kardashians, I immediately asked my wife if the show was about the OJ Lawyer, she thought I was on drugs... lol

The Kardashian kids scene from last night almost made me want to quit watching. If the rest of the show wasn't so good I would've turned it off.

Felt the same way. That scene was wholly unnecessary. I didn't think last night was as good as the first night. I lost interest several times.

My god, so much discussion of what, less than 30 seconds of air time? From their point of view, it didn't matter why dad was on TV, but they better spell our name right! I thought it was a fitting portrayal of those little whores-to-be, as they began their reality TV lives.

I could really do without the shoehorning of the Kardashians. Completely takes you out of it. Also, why the hell was Kim running at the funeral in the previous episode? She was 13. What 13 year old does that? The fact that everyone is talking about that scene and not the rest of the episode shows that it undermines the show. Robert was such a pussy, btw.

I'm not a personal fan of the Kardashians but they were connected to the story and the OJ case did give rise to reality drama so it's kind of fitting that they are linking the seeds of their reality rise to the OJ case.

Nothing like the brutal murder of your 'bff' according to Kris, to put you in the spotlight....

Actually, Kris doesn't yell at Kim to stop running at the funeral. She tells Kourtney and Khloe to stop running. Just saying.

I personally don't mind the Kardashian scenes. Yeah, they're a little forced, but I think it's funny to see that these future mega-celebrities in American pop culture were wrapped up in this entire fiasco too. To me, it really drives home the point of what a major turning point in American pop culture/media coverage/celebrity life this event was.

you mean the 3 seconds where the kids say "look it's daddy on tv"? Umm alright...you almost want to quit watching because of that? Lord I'd hate to watch TV with you.

Anyways...I just got caught up on the first 2 episodes. First, as far as the kardashians are concerned, this is such a non-issue for me. I was juuuuust a bit too young to really remember/process at the time, so even though the names of the major players sound familiar, I'd have no idea who is who just watching this show. I've notcied they make a concerted effort to mention each new "character" by name, which I aboslutely appreciate for people like me who wouldn't know otherwise. Them pointing out that yes, those little kids are who we know now as the kardashians...I guess I just don't see the big deal. You may have females who might not care much at all about the case who may see that scene, put 2 and 2 together, which then creates a spark of interest and makes them want to keep watching. Big deal.

Now for my main question...how much of this is actual true to life? I would imagine that every phone conversation we see is 100% accurate because I assume they are all based on recordings. The TV stuff, obviously true. Some of the actions of the main people I imagine are put together based on evidence and things that were introduced in court.

But what about some of the internal monologues people say when they're by themselves (in the show I mean), or private conversations between OJ and shapiro for example...how much of that stuff is true to what happened vs taking some artistic liberty to help make a good story?

I don't think they're even worth talking about, but jeez, so many people are complaining as if they matter. Kind of plays into their hands, doesn't it.

I wouldn't mind it if this was being made 20 years from now and the Kardashian's aren't super famous anymore.

I didn't mind it up until the second time they showed them screaming their name.

have they?

The first episode was pretty blatant. They mentioned Kris by name, and she specifically calls out kloe and kourtney's names.

In the second episode the only reference I saw (that I recall) was the kids in the living room saying 'look there's daddy on tv' as rob k. was speaking.

Really nothing to complain about. It's not like it's called THE KARDASHIANS askidsandohbtwojsimpsonstuff

Also I"m sure it's been mentinoed but I've only now watched and am just reading the last few pages..

how unbelievably, woefully incompetent was the LAPD? I mean it's almost like manitowoc county levels here. And assuming what we've seen on the show so far is even 90% truthful, how could ANYONE who is above a functionally retarded level of critical thinking think that oj is innocent at this point? Again, after only 2 eps..obviously we haven't even gotten to trial yet.

-guy who lives on the frickin property heard and saw OJ around the premises.
-same guy cannot account for OJ's whereabouts during the murder time
-has a well documented history of beating NBS and had 7(?) previous times had the LAPD called due to abuse
-bloody gloves
-trail of blood matching his and njicole's leading into oj's house
-leaving a will behind
-contemplating suicide
-running from the cops

I mean come the frick on.

No I had no problem with that. I had a problem with them showing them a second time and chanting their name for 15-20 seconds. That was obnoxious and unnecessary.
