Just saw it, and it was amazing. With the caveat of if you're a big fan of the show, it's basically season 1-5 compacted into one movie. They even ran back some of the same jokes, Ari getting a phone call in therapy/people not paying attention during a Drama audition.

Billy Walsh is a legend. This is the exact sort of film where you have to ignore critics. It's pure fan service, right up to the ending. Which for me is all I could've wanted

Saw it last night with my friend who's never seen the show.

After it was over I had mixed feelings. I loved seeing them all again but I feel like I only liked it because I've seen the show and get a lot of the show jokes (If anyone caught it they had the legendary paintball gun above the TV in Ari's office).

He didn't like it as much. Characters like Billy Walsh don't mean shite to him. If you were to watch it without seeing the show it'd be moving so fast because none of the characters are set up and defined. You're expected to already know who they are, what they're like, all their quirks.. ect. It reminded me of season 8 where they rushed everything at the end and all the characters did complete 180s. The movie pretty much reversed everything that happened in season 7-8 with a quick 3 sentences.

With that being said, if you've seen the show you'll like the movie.

The only thing I thought was stupid and forced was Vince marrying that reporter.

Agreed, but even before that, what really sent it down hill was Vince trying to wife up a pron star with the whole Sasha Grey season. Dude roams from girl to girl all series only to become a lovesick puppy over a professional sloot? Haha That made little sense to me. That and the drama over Dramas show builds all season to only be solved in 3 minutes when he and Clay hold the line and force Yagoda to meet their demands. Am I to believe 2 C-list celebrities strong arm Yagoda, who runs a big studio, into going all out on their pilot?

Yeah, I'm watching 7 now and that story line bothers me so much. I get Doug Ellin's friend owns Avion, or whatever, but it's soooooo forced, over a whole damn season. Alex is hot as hell, but the whole "I'm drunk so I might kiss you now" arc is annoying. And what 30 year old man is freaked out by a shaven vagina?

I agree that it was out of character for Vince, but that was after he got in the accident doing his own stunts. He seemed to like hanging out with more "adventurous" people, as him and Scott Lavin became friends pretty quickly.

Just got out and it was awesome. It really put a nice finishing touch on the series and it had pretty much everything I was hoping for in it. Very much felt like seasons 1-5.

Just got out. I loved it. It was a lot of fun. I did think that Ari's jokes flopped a bit (which has never been the case). I thought he was the weakest part. But overall, it was excellent.

its exactly as you would imagine, if you like the show you wont be disappointed

the plot was kind of stale, didnt like the billy bob/son texas plot line and of course some of the jokes were forced, but overall they did a good job

its worth a watch.

Did anyone else think it set up for a sequel?

No, seemed to pretty much wrap the story up. They have all pretty much reached their pinnacle.

Haley Joel Osment saved it from being really bad IMO.

I enjoyed it enough that I don't feel that I wasted my money, but Ari wasn't that great and there was too much time spent on Sloan/E.

Overall I agree with the grantland review that called it a "pretty good Entourage episode."

I heard one of the early showings of the Entourage movie had to be evacuated because of extreme Axe Body Spray fume in the theatre.
