I have heard (much like Life of Pi) that this has to be seen in IMAX 3D, or it really loses a lot of its power. We don't like 3D at all, but I will go watch a movie in 3D if it appears to be essential to the enjoyment of it. We were just wondering before we decided to go. TIA

You see it? How good is it? Looking for a movie to see Tuesday on my day off.

This really is the only one out that is catching my eye. Though, i haven't seen The Conjuring yet.

Naw. Regular 3D does the trick. There is nothing about it that screams IMAX to me.

I'm the same way, I don't like watching movies in 3D, but I felt that Avatar was definitely better in 3D. I've read enough to convince me to see Gravity in IMAX 3D.

yes I normally don't say this but for a change the 3D adds to the movie and they don't use 3D to add a popping effect to make the movie more enjoyable. 3D adds depth and effects to the movie. Its great.

what are you serious?

there are views of sandra bullock floating in space with billions of stars behind her. Amazing views of earth, beautiful sunrises as they go around earth.

IF you haven't seen this in IMAX 3D then don't critize it but I find it hard to believe that standard 3D is as good as an experince as IMAX 3D

if you can go see it

but its not essential to the enjoyment of the film. You could enjoy the film on a computer screen sitting in a chair it is a great movie.

I just saw it tonight in IMAX 3D and It was freaking incredible. I'm not into 3D either, but with this film I do think it's essential

I can't imagine paying $15 or whatever to see a movie. No movie is that good.

I saw it in IMAX 3D.

For me personally, something about 3D gives me a headache every time. Not the content of the movies, but something with the picture itself. Maybe it's the glasses or the blurry picture. . . Every time I see a movie in 3D, I swear it will be my last. But I always end up going back for one more, getting another headache, etc.

That is the way I am usually. It makes me nauseous and my head starts hurting. However, Life of Pi was the first 3D that didn't bother me so I figured they were improving the technology.

Saw it yesterday. Anything less than 3D is a disservice to the visuals IMO.
