Did anyone go to the old Carol movie theater in Denham Springs?

I don't remember when it closed down, and it's an antique store now. Growing up, every Sunday the family would pile in the car and go to Denham Springs to see our grandmother. I know we passed that building hundreds of times back in the day when it was still a theater, but we never once saw a movie there.
I have been there since it has become an antique store, and found out it only had one screen. Did anyone see any movies there? Was it nice? Just wondering, and TIA for any info on the place.

I went on a school field trip and saw (I think, memory getting vague) Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in like second grade

It was closed before I was born (77), but relatives and older friends have told me many stories. I have been in the antique store many times,though.
