I kinda thought they were making fun of their audience with Dexter's reaction to the video game. Yeah, I guess we are all a buncha sick fricks.

Last night was probably the 2nd worst episode of all time next to Nebraska.

There actually were a few decent reveals, but the shite that is actually happening just seems cartoonishly stupid - particularly the recruiting of the crazy husband and wife by Travis via an easily viewable public blog.

Or how about Dexter walking up to the Whore-chicks house, midday, peeking through windows and then picking the lock and forcing his way in. WTF?? Aside from the fact that this chick was just recently a kidnap victim, she turns out to be a murder victim soon after. Dexter could've easily been spotted by a neighbor in what looked to be an apartment complex next door.

Yep. And also that chick doesn't have police protection? Really? The ONE victim who wasn't killed by the serial killer that is the focus of the entire police force is just off happily by herself?

Also, security footage is evidently only good for Dexter - i.e. he can use it to find the boat, but he doesn't seem to worry at all about being on it himself.

Also, he made no effort to disguise his voice when he called 9-11.

Also, he happily traipsed into an environment where he saw the guy wearing a hazmat suit.

Yes!

Has Dexter always been like this and I'm just not remembering? These kind of things stand out to me, especially when this obvious, so I don't think I would've missed it in previous seasons.

It seems to me like the writers have just gotten utterly lazy and started ignoring all technology that would be adverse for Dexter. Further, I think they are going to end up having the lazy explanation for all of this behavior ultimately be "he wanted to get caught".

I want to know how this season ends, but I honestly believe they are laughing at the viewers at this point.

Sheesh, even his escape from the basement at the church was absurdly pat and neat. Travis perfectly stopped right outside Dexter's window to have his little chat with the Geller ghost, leaves, and then Dexter easily busts out.

No part of either Travis' or Dexter's behavior makes any sense at this point.

Running on fumes to get to some ultimate reveal - aka same as Lost.

I'm hoping that they put this sad season behind them and show up with some different writers next year. I'm very interested to see how a story arc can be done that eventually reveals Dexter to his sister or some other close character.

But watching Quinn wake up in his car with a sprinkler spraying on him sure ain't doing it.

It's weird the way they're pointing to Deb and Dexter getting it on in the promos for next week. Sexual tension an such.

they won't really do this, right???? please???

When Deb was talking to her therapist about Dexter my girl said "She's in love with him".
I didn't think anything of it until I saw the promos.

Agreed. The only thing I've particularly enjoyed about this season is the elaborate DDK death scenes. This season hasnt really brought anything new to the table.

Which seem even more ridiculous now that you know it was just Travis setting up these elaborate tableaus.

I think the show has jumped the shark

I mean, last episode, when he was chasing Professor Gellar in the church and found Travis handcuffed, Travis directed him to a door in the floor under a table, saying he went that way

Well, Dexter had to slide the table out of the way and pull the carpet up to reveal that door. If Gellar had went down that hole after handcuffing Travis, who pulled the carpet down and slid the table back over the door?

Season 1 Dexter would have immediately been all over that shite

Honestly, I really enjoyed this season and this episode in particular. Are you guys really going after realism on this show? That's something you should have left behind at any number of previous ridiculous storylines. Setting aside the issues of realism, this episode was pretty good to me.

Think about it - this is the first and only time that Dexter's friends and family have been in danger, as a unit. Before his wife and sister have both been in danger separately, but never his entire group of family and friends. I'm enjoying it... although I really did kind of hate the new two characters. I'm just wondering what they do with this intern. I get the feeling he knows who Dexter actually is - he revealed the killer angle of his game to Dexter before anyone else (even Masuka, who would be the more logical person to talk to). He has that plastic hand. He lives in a lavish apartment with no realistic explanation for his resources (unpaid internship, "people like video games LOL" bullshite).

I think the intern could really spice up the last two episodes or lead to a killer cliffhanger for season 7.

This episode was pretty good. Better than the Nebraska episode, that one stunk.

This season isn't TERRIBLE. Better than 5. i thought the Lumen storyline just wasn't very good.

I they do the "Deb in love with Dexter" thing they're alluding to, they'll have REALLY jumped the shark.
