So I haven't read comic books in years. Parents are moving into a new house, and my dad still has every comic from when I was a kid. Spent a few hours reading through flash and batman books from the early 90s.

While perusing amazon, I discovered DC did a hard reboot just a few years ago, and most of the New 52 titles are in collected editions. Is this a good place to start back in? I'm a Batman fan, but am also intrigued by the Superman/Wonder Woman title. Is there a certain place to start? How much of a reboot are these new titles?

Sorry for all the varied questions, I know we have fans here and thought it would be a good place for info.

Start at Grant Morrisons Batman run. It started before the reboot but DC didn't mess with Batman much.

The rest of the reboot is a pile of shite.

Except Earth 2.

I'd start off with the Batman arc Court of Owls, and then go straight to the Batman crossover arc Night of Owls. You won't be disappointed with those.

I've heard that the Superman/Wonder Woman stuff is pretty good, but I haven't got to any of it yet. The Justice League reboot stuff is pretty good, especially the first 3 or 4 story arcs.

I really enjoyed volume 1 of the new aquaman. I heard the flash is good. I heard the new 52 batman is excellent.

Screw this guy. There is some good stuff.

JL Dark is great. Superman/WW is great.

I like the reboots.

Old School here - Silver Age calling... don't have the benefit of all my old comics still around - once had a box full in my parent's attic - but they moved and threw the box away without thinking it was something I might want. My bad for getting married and leaving my stuff in their attic 43 years ago.

Long story short - I just got a hardbound Justice League Omnibus (vol 1) from Amazon. All my fave old JLA stories in one place. HIGHLY recommend this format for oldie reading.

I imagine the reboot newer stuff would be equally rewarding.

Suck my arse Scruff. There was some potential early on but it all went to hell.

What was good early on?

Flash until Manapul left.
Action Comics until Morrison left.
Wonder Woman until Azzarello and Chiang left.
Aquaman until Johns left.
Green Lantern was good while Sinestro was back in the saddle as a GL but that didn't last long.
Frankenstein and Fury of Firestorm were both solid and then cancelled.

Like I said. Batman is still good and has been since Morrison started his run and on through Synder.

And Earth 2 has always been good but its starting to take a dip recently as they're focusing too much on the new Superman and Batman. It's still an interesting book though.
