I thought tonight's episode was funny but predictable...

People last week were complaining that it wasn't believable. Tonight's episode was very believable and very well done IMO.

Anyone notice how Larry (on the show) is almost identical to George on Seinfeld? Go back and imagine Larry and Jerry's conversations this season and imagine it's George. I think that's why Larry got mad that Jason called George. Moron and unlikeable.

It's predictable in the sense of knowing that everything will tie together in the end, but that's the ingenuity of the show. You knew he'd get caught, but it wasn't clear how it was going to happen until the last few minutes.

Larry David has said he based George off of himself

I was disappointed in the past 2 weeks. Both seemed predictable, forced, and just not that funny.

I'm not digging this season. Not hating it, just not as good this year.

As I have said before, the episodes are great when Larry gets himself in a bad situation and everyone overreacts to the situation.

I do not like the episodes where Larry is a total dick. In this one, he was a dick from moment one all the way to the end.

It's known that the George character is based off of Larry David.

I didn't think this one qualified as one of those. The one with the Sammie singing was really the only one this season where he hasn't at least feigned some kind of goodness. In this episode, he did offer to pay for the kid's college tuition, in addition to wanting to get the head stone changed. And anyone who has played golf can sympathize with him going off on Norm. I thought it was good stuff.

Still felt he was an over the top dick for most of the episode.

And I disagree Steve. This one was a little over the top too.

Why exactly was Larry at the funeral and memorial service for a man he did not like and possibly helped to cause his death?

He felt no remorse or guilt so why did he go to a service where everyone was going to think he killed the guy? That was just a tad too contrived.

I know he liked to tie everything together, but this episode felt more like a completed puzzle with several pieces jammed in the wrong spots.

And no, I am not like Jersey. This is actually the first season that I have no been happy with the show.

I feel like the entire episode was pretty much Larry having understandable reactions and everyone else freaks out.

1. Tip - The waiter should have never asked him about the lack of a tip. That's a dick move on the waiter especially since the club owner said a lot of people don't leave an extra tip.

2. Slow golfer - The slow group was completely in the wrong in this situation. It is common courtesy to let the faster group play through. The fact that the guy happened to die was an accident and Larry had no reason to know his condition.

3. Swan - ok, he was an a-hole for covering up killing the swan.

4. Cell kept going off - His fault, but it was more of a brain fart thing to keep forgetting to turn it off. He wasn't trying to be an a-hole here.

5 Stone mason - He ruined a deceased woman's grave because her son called him an a-hole. He overreacted to Larry here.

With all that said, I thought this episode was just ok. I'm still enjoying this season a lot.

This is where I disagree. I think Larry's reaction on the golf course, his reaction to the cousin asking him to pay for his wife to go to beauty school, and his response about the stone mason was very similiar to his reaction to the DR taking a drink out of his fridge. I actually was in total agreement with him in all 4 spots (however I would have handled more politely though ). In all instances, Larry was in the right.

-In Golf, if you're playing slow then you let other play through
-After a man offers to pay your child's tuition, you don't go ahead and ask for more $$$
-If my plumber, who I don't really know at all, told me my favorite player sucked and was overrated then I would probably think he was an a-hole too. You're a dick if you go up to a stranger and tell them there favorite player sucks end of story.

I really disagree. The bare midriff was definitely over the top, but I thought this episode was very believable for a person like Larry. Hell if a big bird started flying at me, I would probably try and protect myself.

I know he felt no remorse, but Larry felt that he would look suspicious about killing the swan if he didn't go IMO.

When they were at the table and Larry gave the waiter that huge tip as he walked away to keep his mouth shut, Super Dave/Marty said "I don't think he knew what the frick you were talking about". I almost peed my pants. Those 4 guys were awesome together for the entire episode.

- the fried onions
- the swan
- murderer/manslaughter
- cosmetology school
- Norm: "How's your wife?" Larry: "frick you Norm!"
- Marty: "....valet parking too?"

on and on....

FWIW, slow playing golfers bother the crap out of me; however, most are cordial enough to let you play through.
