NBC's sequel picks up 18 years after Coach went off the air in 1997 following a nearly 200-episode run. Nelson's beleaguered football coach is now retired and is called back to become the assistant coach to his own grown son, who is now the new head coach at an Ivy League school in Pennsylvania that is just starting up a new team.

ill give it a shot if Jerry Van Dyke makes an appearance

Dauber is the voice of Patrick on SpongeBob so he's busy.......unless they're not making Spongebob anymore.

If it takes off and they get a couple of seasons out of it I can def see Les making a guest appearance
Too bad it's not on ABC so they could throw some Game Day stuff in the mix.

I'll give it a whirl. I have fond memories of watching Coach with my parents growing up and love watching the re-runs when I can catch them on.

I don't even really watch Community but they got rid of Community for this? Maybe it's an April Fool's post that got dropped a week early.

Funniest episode was the one where Coach wanted Troy Aikman to be a sperm donor.

Not a log cabin fan generally, but Coach had a bad arse one.

There's only one Ivy League school in Pennsylvania, and it already has a football team.

I remember watching as a kid, just don't remember many episode specific details. I do recall them playing Alabama in one episode though. That one kinda stuck with me.

So his adopted son character from the original show is now a college head coach. If they are going by real life timeline, wouldn't Hayden Fox's son be 20?

Gene Stallings got outcoached by Curley Hallman once, so Hayden Fox is not that big of a stretch.

I noticed Coach reruns on like VH1 or something the other night. I'm just glad Craig T is still working for some reason.

Won't be the same unless they start each episode with "Coach is filmed before a live studio audience."
