..but GRRM hasn't cut shite it doesn't seem. Half of the last two books are totally boring and off track and go nowhere.

It sounds to me like he needs a more honest Editor to tell him what is shite and what isn't.

If he was actually working on the timeline that the quoted person was suggesting then that would be just fine, but GRRM is too busy playing celebrity right now and not working on shite it seems to me.

He needs to quit complaining about fans as well. He's such a whiny bitch.

100% agree. AFFC and ADWD were so meandering and basically led to nowhere (Brienne's chapters are a good example; her storyline could've been condensed from 8 chapters to 2). They were very disappointing compared to the first 3 books and I felt like George could have really made those 2 books so much better than they were....and the fact that it took him 11 years to release 2 "meh" books is concerning; should we be worried that TWoW is going to be another characters-meandering-around-doing-nothing book?

And having no Sansa chapters in ADWD and barely any Bran or Arya chapters is bullshite/inexcusable. And then he basically left every character on a cliffhanger, especially Jon. Frick GRRM .

And yes, he's trying too hard to play celebrity and he's been known for shitting on his fans and not being very nice to us. I find that actors and much friendlier with their fans than book writers; lots of book writers seem to despise their fans, aka the ones who lined their checkbooks in the first place. GRRM technically doesn't 'owe' us anything, but if he wants to be a halfway decent human being then he needs to make some serious strides if he's sticking to what he said about having 7 books; like each chapter needs to have something major happening if he plans on finishing the series within 2 more books.

And currently he's in Australia right now doing who knows what with GoT promotions and he won't be back in the US until right before Thanksgiving.

It would be nice if he actually had a book editor who wasn't a toady and would flat out tell him if a chapter is shite.

He pretty much does what he wants at this point. He is making a lot of people a lot of money. Himself included, of course.

I'm not going to lie, reading Feast for the first time was a chore. There were so many chapters that were just so long, drawn out, uninteresting, and irrelevant. Everyone piles on the Briene chapters with good reason, but the Kingsmoot chapters were bad and most of the Dorne ones were pretty much all filler no killer as well. I even loathed reading the Cersie chapters despite the fact that things actually happened during them. I found Dance much better from a pacing standpoint, but Dany's plot really developed poorly as she made many choices that seemed contrary to her character as it had been established in the first 3 books. At least when Jamie did a 180 in ASOS he really developed it and provided tons of back story and gradual development.

I did find Dance to be the 3rd most enjoyable book imo (behind ASOS and COK), but GOT is much, much, much better written.

AFFC is much better on a slow re-read. I tore through all 5 on the first read. Missed a lot of crucial material.

The Kingsmoot and Dorne chapters were really boring to me; note: I've only read AFFC once so far, so I can't say how much better or worse it would be on a reread. There were definitely some chapters that I enjoyed in AFFC, mainly Jaime, Arya, and Sansa/Alayne's. Another thing that made AFFC less enjoyable is that it was missing the main POV players who had been in the previous 2-3 books: Dany, Jon, Tyrion, Bran, Davos, Theon.

I don't know how anyone can't love the Cersei chapters. I hate her as a person, but getting into her fricked up little head is a treat. Out of all the POV characters, I honestly think I understand Cersei the most and can most accurately predict her actions.

I enjoyed her chapters as well and think that both she and Jaime should've been POV characters from AGOT/from the get-go.

The King's Landing chapters in AFFC are some of the best of the series.

And they show how delusional Cersei is and how her grip on power is starting to slip. The small council she had was so terrible . Plus Taena is either a Tyrell spy or a spy for Doran IMO FWIW .

Nah. First off Jaime does nothing in the second novel but rot in a dungeon. He doesn't do much in the first novel except around other characters. I would though have liked to see Jaime getting captured from his POV. Plus you really need to despise Jaime as a character before he has his redemption, and a POV chapter before the third book would ruin it.

And I think Cersei having POV chapters while Tyrion is around would have taken away from some of Tyrion's arc.

I think I'm the only one that liked both the Brienne chapters (lot of history tidbits spread around) and the Iron Islands chapters. The Greyjoys craziness took it over the top for me. When Victarion catches a sword with his freaking hand and then throws the Serry overboard I was like good game GRRM, good game.

I liked Feast, I really enjoyed the Dorne chapters & the Kingsmoot, but reading about Jamie, Arya & what was going on in KL was the best parts. The Brienne chapter were bad.

I also think that her 'pirate lover' was either Oberyn or Euron.

Did y'all see how the girl that we all thought was going to be the waif is actually going to be Leaf?? Nice to know that the show will be progressing with Bran's story in ADWD. GRRM gonna be pissed when the show goes into TWoW territory with Bran in Season 5, but that's George's fault for being a lazy frick.

Octavia Alexandru is CotF Leaf in S5

I loved the Iron Islands chapters. The Kingsmoot is probably one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. I didn't really care for Dorne that much the first time around. Mainly because I was just in such a hurry to find out what was going on with the characters from the first three novels.

I hate when people say that nothing happens in feast. So many small but very very important moves were made.

Like finding out that the hound is with the faith now. Which could very possibly end up being cersei's downfall.

We find out that Bran can speak through the weirwood's.

AFFC is going to be looked at as a very important book in this series. It may not have been as action packed as the first three but it taught us a lot about the world.
