Yep. You know my thoughts on that, though, LT. The fact that they showed snow on the iron throne and her husband and child at the wall...
But for you, I'll hope that he hooks up with Val. She would certainly be my choice if I were Jon.

Eh, I don't think that that necessarily means that Jon+Dany=true love. I don't see GRRM going along with that. I think it does point to a high likelihood of Jon getting through Iron Throne not through conquest, but through his help in saving the Seven Kingdoms.
ETA: I think the Blue Rose is a literary device to signify Lyanna. Lyanna was given blue roses by Rhaegar at the Tourney of Harenhaal, there were blue roses at the Tower of Joy, etc.

Definitely. I think there is ZERO chance that Jon is not L+R's son.
As for Dany, I think that she and Jon have more in common than people think. I do like Val, but who knows what we would think of her if she had a POV and we were able to see all of her thoughts the way we do with Dany.

Dany and Jon do have similar things in common, but they both have very different personalities and outlooks. I don't think Jon would see Dany in the same way that he views Northern women and Wildling women (aka his types of women).

Wanted to bump this thread to post an article I just read and it reflects my views/opinions about next season (although I think some of the characters will be in Season 5, i.e. the Old Pomegranate).
GoT: 5 Book Characters who should (but probably won't) be in Season 4

I want to see Wyman, the Hodors will need some sort of hope and he's what gives it to us in book 5. Also, pls give us Rhaegar.

I think we'll be seeing Wyman in Season 5. Without that plot, Davos would be doing nothing.
I want to see the Kettleblacks because I absolutely love the "She's fricking Lancel, Osmund Kettleblack, and Moonboy for all I know" line that Tyrion tells Jaime and Jaime thinks about 24/7 .
As for Rhaegar, the author of the article is spot-on...the TV series has been lacking the backstory that is woven so deeply throughout the books.

Such scenes could also be used to introduce the character of Jon Connington (who becomes important during the events of A Dance With Dragons) to television viewers, whilst also illustrating the motivation for actions that new character Oberyn Martell will take and introducing the prophecy of the ‘Prince That Was Promised’, one of many important prophecies, visions and dreams that the series has yet to explore in much detail.
If there’s one thing that Game of Thrones has been lacking, its backstory, and Rhaegar is the perfect figure to orientate the occasional exploration of recent Westeros history around.

Totally agree with your number one pick. I think if the show wants to start sowing the seeds of the prince that was promised story line they should start sooner rather than later plus a flashback or set in the past episode showing Rhaegar/Lyanna, the cause of the rebellion etc could work.

I kind of think Wyman should be in season four. There really isn't any reason he shouldn't be...he wasn't in AFFC only b/c the books were split. He represents the Stark threat/hope post RW which may be more important TV wise than the books.

Agreed. I'd honestly put Davos' Book 5 arc in Season 4 and just have him go to Skagos in the 5th Season. Also make Theon's arc end at Moat Catlyn this season.

I think Theon's story might take a different route in the show with the Yara/Asha element.
I'd be surprised if they did the Moat Caitlin scene.
But also disappointed if they didn't

I don't think Asha will ever make it to Theon, largely due to Stannis.

I'm curious to see how this Ironborn crap is going to play-out. I didn't enjoy the Ironborn chapters in AFFC and felt like the Kingsmoot dragged on.

I thought for sure Balon would die in the finale, and that would be Asha's arc in Season 4

Once it started & I became familiar with the characters I liked those chapters. It just didn't have the climax that occurred in Dorne.

Did y'all see this deleted scene? Sorry if Germans. I think it's similar to the S1 Tywin scene with him cleaning the Stag (Baratheon) and now the Fish (Tully).
Sorry if Germans--Grand Maester Pycelle and Tywin

Tywin Lannister should post on the Outdoor Board. Who knew he was such a sportsman?
Posted on 8/15/13 at 12:10 am to ladytiger118
That scene bothers me because it never statex in the books that he was pretending to be frail. He fell asleep during the joffrey wedding and got blamed for his death and he pissed himself when he got caught in bed with a serving girl by tyrion. I believe tywin said "hes a toad, but better a lannister toad than a tyrell one"
Posted on 8/15/13 at 1:11 am to sgallo3
I think that's why they decided to delete the scene. Pycelle's whole "schtick" would be spoiled for everyone and he was never a game player, just a Lannister kiss-arse.

Yep. Hodor's have short memories and it would be good to keep the fact that people other than Robb were killed at the RW and that there will be hell to pay.
On the backstory, hopefully it isn't too late for Jojen to tell Bran the story of TKOLT and actually show the story as he's telling it.
