Here is my perfect death for Aegon.

Aegon, the Martells, Tyrells and the Golden Company have begun to sack King's Landing. Of course Aegon is at the front of the attack along with Rolly Duckfield and Jon Connington. Everything is going according to plan. Aegon takes off his helm to survey the scene. Jon looks at Aegon and sees the spitting image of Rhagaer in all of his glory. Aegon turns to look at Jon and...........

Motherfricking arrow through the neck by some random arse Lannister grunt.

Cause you see in real life, their have been stories just like Aegon and none of them end happily. In real life the hero doesn't face off against the villian. They are both killed by unimportant grunts whose names are lost to history. Aegon is the prodigal son returned to Westeros. And he will die.

A character we meet 2/3 of the way into the series sitting on the Iron Throne in the end would be bullshite. Aegon should be nothing more than a catalyst for certain characters. Plus there's almost no way he's the actual Aegon and will likely through Varys hunt down Jon and Dany, two huge threats to his claim.

I personally see Jon sitting on the Iron Throne at the end of the series, and not win it through conquering the Seven Kingdoms, but saving them

This.

I agree as well...but...how would Varys know about R+L=J? The Spider has a lot of informers, but I'm not sure if he would even know that Rhaegar and Lyanna had a baby. I would like Varys to be kept in the dark about that little secret and show that Ned was able to closely guard his sister's secret/promise to himself. .

FARK!!!! I just typed out one of the longest posts that I've made on here on all of the clues that point to Jon's death being planned (and made a hell of a case), and the f-----g thing closed when I did a backspace and I lost it.

There are a LOT of supporting passages that I had tied in, but reread page 909 in the HB of ADWD. In the span of about a page and a half it ties together a lot of things, all pointing to Jon's death being planned. Granted, the way that the actual attack is presented, he seems surprised. My guess is that he IS surprised. He may have known that it was coming and planned with Mel accordingly, but he may not have known who would do it or exactly when. He also may have made the plan as a contingency in case his brothers didn't join him, and when it looked like they would, he may have thought that he had avoided it.

Also, Bowen Marsh had tears in his eyes when he did it. Does that strike anyone else here as being very odd?

Rewatching the series on HBOGO. Can someone point me to some background info on the white walkers and the religions of Westeros?

Jon is the actual prodigal son, Aegon is the mummer's dragon. With that said, I doubt Aegon dies until the very end of the series, and he'll meet Jon before he does.

Dude that fricking sucks. Been there. Hopefully you'll be able to stomach trying it again, cause I'm sure we'd all love to see it.

Not sure if it's been posted here yet, but:

Mace Tyrell has been cast

Guy looks a little ... er ... larger than I pictured even Mace to be.

Yeah, and uglier. I pictured Mace to be like Robert.

Not particularly for two reasons. First, no matter how much they hated each other they were still brothers of the Night's Watch. And that's some heavy shite to have to carry with you, killing your Commander. Second, it's another plot device as it provides the salt (your tears naturally carry salt) in the prophecy of Azor Ahai.

That is very true. As for the smoke part...I think it's been said that the Wall 'smokes' at times?

Actually, in the same sequence, it says that his wound is smoking in the cold.

Oooohhhhh, and guess what! Remember that part about the bleeding star?

"...The giant was dangling a bloody corpse by one leg...swinging it like a Morningstar...
He swung the dead knight against the grey stone of the tower, again and again and again, until the man's head was red and pulpy as a summer melon. The knight's cloak flapped in the cold air. Of white wool it had been, bordered in cloth of silver and patterned with blue stars"

Same scene we have salt, smoke and a bleeding star.
