It is, but I meant I want to see it have some significance to the story.

I'll get back into it once I start my rewatch.

Chekhov's Gun suggests that Blackfyre and Dark Sister are likely to turn up in the books. Seems like a lot of time to spend on them to just let them stay lost.

Same with Brightroar.

Has anyone established any show rules in this thread? I mean, if Im reading crackpot theories, some nerd frick head a-hole won't spoil the show with internet leaks, right?

If you haven't read the books, you shouldn't be in here. If you haven't seen the show you shouldn't be in here. These are forward looking theories. When something happens in the show, that could give a clue to the books especially since the show is now ahead of things.

The worst part of this board is the GoT spoiler crap where 95% of the problems would be fixed if people just used common sense.

So for show purposes, how will it shake out during the final battle? There's no way Sam will become a warrior by that point...Jon, Brienne, and Jaime wielding those swords is very plausible.

Maybe Jorah if he and Sam become close at the Citadel. (Speculation is Jorah will head there looking for a cure). If not him, I dunno. Hound or Gendry maybe but they'd have to build up to how they'd have access to it.

What they really need is a ton arrows with dragon glass arrowheads if they want to make a dent in the army of wights they are liable to come up against.

Yep. This thread can say/talk about anything book or show spoiler wise.

It's had SPOILERS in the title for years.

Without Darkstar in the show, I figured it isn't going to come into play. It is shame that Ser Arthur didn't get more play on the show, there were some great lines about him.

"Ser Arthur was of the morning, Men call me Darkstar, and I am of the night." Ger0ld Dayne

"I learned from Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning, who could have slain all five of you with his left hand while he was taking a piss with the right." Jamie

"They whispered of Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning, deadliest of the seven knights of Aerys's Kingsguard, and of how their young lord had slain him in single combat" Cat

"The finest knight I ever saw was Ser Arthur Dayne, who fought with a blade called Dawn, forged from the heart of a fallen star. They called him the Sword of the Morning, and he would have killed me but for Howland Reed" Ned

"Father said he was the best swordsman he ever saw."

This thread includes spoilers for anything past, present, and future. Book or show.

At least that's how I've always seen it.

I heard the talk of Illyrio having Blackfyre stashed for Faegon, and of Bloodraven taking Dark Sister north of the Wall with him (likely to be gifted to Bran).

But where do you think Brightroar is to be found? Will Euron have it stashed in a hold on his ship? Another found treasure from his plundering of Valyria? Seems rather unlikely to me.

I mentioned this a few hundred pages back but there was a cryptic reference to Blackfyre in one of the transposed readings mi'Lard does at those conventions but the reference had disapeared by publication. It was just after Tyrion had joined Faegon's crew. He was taking a piss and overheard Duck and the Halfmaester speaking in Valyrian. He only understood a few words but there was something about whether Illyrio was bringing "the sword". Not "a sword", "the sword". The disapearance of the reference could mean that Martin is going a different path, who knows.

That's a fair point. I had always assumed that eventually we would see a POV character visit the ruins of Valyria but with two books to go we're running out of chapters.

Yes, but spoilers for stuff that's been officially out in the books. Not shite that was leaked. GRRM never let anything leak that he hadn't officially released.

So I guess this means after being able to read this thread for years, I won't be reading it any longer

I still like to think Blackfyre is hidden (in plain sight) somewhere in the Iron Throne...

The book IT. Not the HBO IT.
