It's about, essentially, zombie children taking over an elementary school and how the teachers try to survive.
Don't go watch the trailer it gives away way too much.
The movie isn't going to win any awards, but it has a Tucker and Dale feel and is almost just as good. Extremely funny, decent characters all the way through (lots of "oh that guy" people).
Yeah it's another zombie movie, but the tone is just significantly different.
I enjoyed it a lot. (But it also probably takes the right mood too)

I wonder what delayed the release. It was supposed to come out over a year ago.

Independent theater.

Did not know that. Looked like a super low budget, some of the effects were cheesy, and I'm sure there's the potential that people didn't get it.
There's also all of the school shooting stuff that went down over the last few years. Maybe they were worried people would make stupid connections?
(And I did notice a couple of things in the trailer that were not in the film, specifically the scenes of kids getting directly hit with stuff-baseballs, hockey sticks-where in the film they did quick jump cuts before you see the actual hit. Could be.)

Not really a genre I'm crazy about in the first place but I saw some previous the other day and damn it looked terrible to me

To each his own. It's a pretty fun ride if you like that sort of thing, but yeah not many people do.

I loved this movie. I almost started a thread on it. It was on Uverse Demand and watched it on a whim bc I'm a sucker for a zombie flick. Best quote of the movie: "Follow me, I do cross fit!"

Sounds like my type of humor. I'll have to give this one a try.

That line was so on point. Hysterical.

Definitely right up my alley.
