The fact that I even had to distinguish which version it is still pisses me off to no end. The first 10-20 minutes of this film are simply epic. The opening voice over, the "steel" speech, the Basil Poleadaris music, the raid with James Earl Jones, the wheel, the pit fighter.....it's almost too badass for words...

Let me Tell You of the Days of High Adventure!

Conan, what is best in life?

It's great. Not the Conan of Robert EnHoward but I'm ok with that. I love to watch it.

If I see it on while changing channels, I have to go to it. It's like a magnet.

The score truly is one of the best ever. Not hyperbole. Each scene is perfectly scored. From the anvil to the riders of doom to civilization, the orgy, battle of the mounds. Just a fantastic score. Easily my favorite soundtrack.

Oh...the movie is great too.

A lady I worked with asked me to take her 15 year old son. I knew nothing about it and went into it expecting the worst. Great story. Great movie.

Bad-arse characters and believable actors playing them.

I attended a bad-arse wedding that used some music from this movie and Excalibur. I have some bad-arse friends.

After all these years I had no idea Oliver Stone was involved with this film. Great flick!

Favorite movie of all time.

It also happens to have the best one liner I've ever seen/heard.

During the orgy fight scene amidst all the chaos Rexor and Thorgrim come storming into the chamber. Rexor looks up and sees Conan and simply states "YOU."

35 years later and I still get amped up watching it.

Agreed. When I was younger I read all the books. It came out when I was 15 but it was rated R. So my dad took me. The sex scenes were a bit awkward. Lol

There are a few 80's movies that were supposed to be cheesy and low-brow, like Conan, that have aged very well.

Arnold was born to play the role of Conan. All the other stuff he did - Terminator, Predator, Kindergarten Cop, being Governor of the state of California, everything - was just window dressing, no matter how badass it may have been. The man is, and will always be, Conan.

John Milius would punch you in the dick for calling his movie "cheesy"
