/Film is reporting that according to Umberto Gonzales from Heroic Hollywood, Lucasfilm will bring director Colin Trevorrow to their panel in Hall H later today, to make the official announcement…

From /Film:

Our friend Umberto Gonzalez at Heroic Hollywood claims to have the scoop. I had been told by others that Lucasfilm was planning to announce an Episode IX director at the Comic Con panel, but could never get a good enough confirmation. Lucasfilm held the tech run-through of their panel in Hall H just a couple hours ago, so its possible that the information could have leaked out of that.
I don’t have a second source able to confirm this report at this time, but Umberto seems pretty confident — confident enough to report it a mere 16 hours away from the scheduled presentation where it could easily and quickly be debunked.

So it looks like the director of Jurassic World is "heavily" rumored to be the director of the final installment in this new Star Wars trilogy. I have to admit that I'm a little worried about this. I know Jurassic World has received mixed-ish reviews.

The thing that worries me the most is that Jurassic World seems to have an overabundance of modern day CGI, and that damned overused Teal and Orange color grading. If Colin is to direct this third film, I hope he will follow the footsteps of Abrams and Johnson in using a lot of practical effects. And most importantly, I hope he makes it a damn good movie.

But right now I'm pretty worried he's going to mess this up. The only thing that could make this worse is if they hire Lindelof to write the script.

Jurassic World was going to be a success no matter what; it definetly wasn't because of Trevorrow. It comes off as fairly cynical to me.

Wait, what comes off as cynical? Are you referring to me or something else? Just asking. Not trying to start anything.

UPDATE!

Heroic Hollywood updated their story, saying that Colin Trevorrow wil not be brought out on stage today at Hall H at the Star Wars panel.

Not sure if this means that the whole rumor is false though.

Yeah, Jurassic World, though successful, is not great.

I cannot stand movies that do this. Was Michael Bay/The Watchowski brothers the ones who started it? And yes I said brothers. Just because you chop off your penis doesn't make you a woman.

Ah yes, someone else saw the article from Cracked.com.

the only thing worse than that is if Gearge Lucas rose from the dead to write and direct it. Oh, he's not dead? Wishful thinking, I suppose.
