When he was 71 YO and a year after having open heart surgery, he was in 12 films in 14 months.

A life disappointment for him was he never was an opera star.

He's a legend.

I absolutely loved his behind the scenes material in the LOtR DVD's, especially him explaining to Peter Jackson the sound a person makes when he gets stabbed, because Lee had been stabbed before

Was funny when Ian McKellen was talking about that in the LOtR behind the scenes, paraphrasing "he's been in a lot of movies, a lot of them, even he will admit, weren't very good".
