I didn't care much for BvS, but I did really enjoy MOS. I like that film more than any Marvel film, aside from maybe Cap 2.

I find it amusing that they called it Captain America, when in reality, it's probably just another Avengers film.

After the last Captain America and Avengers films, I'm more excited to see a film with the CA title. The Avengers movies are popcorn fun. Winter Soldier was more of a complete film.

Oh, I agree. I'm not a fan of the Avenger films, but I do love this tone that the Russo's have created for the Cap films. I'm very excited about CW.

You didn't read any of the reviews did you? Several make a point to mention that while it features several characters, the movie itself is very much Cap's story.

Reports of DC "failing" have been greatly exaggerated.

They just made a movie with the two of the three biggest comic book heroes in the same movie for the first time, and they aren't even going to break a billion dollars.

They barely made more money than a Captain America movie, and a Gaurdians of the Galaxy movie, based off comic book characters the vast majority of movie watchers never heard of before.

The Avengers movies have blown them out the water, and Civil War will surpass them with ease.

BvS was supposed to be their ace in the hole. Marvel already built up the comic book movies to make it easy to be successful as well as the love for the last Batman trilogy. Despite this, and having Superman and Batman in the fricken movie, it still wasn't anywhere near as successful as it should have been. It should have made twice as much as it has.
They found a way to make the two biggest stars in the comic book world, mediocre.

Do you remember the hype for the first Avengers movie? They produced results.
How in the world does a movie with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman not make at least the same amount of money as a movie with Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Thor?
Outside of the Hulk, 6-8 years ago hardly anyone knew anything about Iron Man, Thor and Cap. Now Cap and Iron Man are at least as big if not bigger than Superman and Batman.

I never read a comic book in my life, but i knew a ton about Superman and Batman, like most normal kids. I knew nothing about Marvel characters other than the Hulk, and that's b/c of Lou Ferigno. I remember hearing Sienfeld and George debate about if Iron Man had clothes on under his suit, and i remember thinking, i had no idea what Iron Man was supposed to look like.

DC is failing at the moment and they have little wiggle room to redeem themselves with Justice League. It better be really good or they might as well quit and start over.

you can't keep making movies that barely turn a profit just so you can keep selling merchandise.

I expect JL to be mediocre. However, the good news for DC is they still have a shot for success with films like Suicide Squad, WW, and Aquaman. Snyder isn't directing those

Aquaman

meh....I know the comic folks talk about how badass he is now, but the general population probably isn't all that excited about an Aquaman solo flick.

I enjoyed MoS as well. But BvS was a shite show. I wanted to believe in it because Batman is my favorite hero DC or Marvel. But it was trash.

Just when I think I'm gonna lose my faith in Marvel and quit watching their movies because they're becoming stale (IM3, Age of Ultron) they come out with movies like Ant-Man and Civil War that get me back into the genre. And it's mainly for the characters. I enjoy the characters so much. Having said that, after Inifnity War, it's going to be hard for me to continue following them.

Exactly. Looking forward to the Wonder Woman trailer or whatever is released after San Diego Comic Con. Suicide Squad looks nothing like a Snyder film. I think that once audiences see a couple of non-Snyder DC movies the cloud of gloom hanging over Warner will dissipate some. People will have to re-grit their teeth when Justice League nears.

Marvel has shown that you can be successful with unknown characters. It's just a matter of making enjoyable films. That's all the GA cares about.

For better or worse, Aquaman has name recognition. Not that the public has been clamoring for an Aquaman movie, but he has a bigger public profile than the majority of superheroes.

As unpopular as Snyder's handling of Superman and the tone of BvS was, the compliments did come in for Wonder Woman. Hopefully he'll use Mamoa in JL as he was able to use Gadot in BvS. They're both actors known for their on screen presence over their acting ability.

I remember thinking how in the hell are they going to translate Thor and Cap to the big screen? I thought it would be just entirely too goofy looking, but damn... what they've done, especially with Cap is nothing short of amazing.

It's almost like Marvel hires directors to tell character driven stories instead of directors that just "make it look good".

Up to 59 reviews now and still only 1 rotten. Even the mixed reviews have negative comments that are more about superhero movie fatigue than actual complaints about the movie itself.

This flick may finish with the highest rating for a "super hero movie" ever.

The fact that he actually liked BvS while other DC fan boys on this board hated it tells me all I need to know about his taste in movies.
As a HUGE DC fan and a defender of Man of Steel, I absolutely hated BvS.

I think everyone has a right to an opinion. But what he's claiming about critic bias and now the nonsensical contradicting statements, he's making our fanbase look bad. This conspiracy talk is nonsense and getting old quick.

Eh I doubt that. I'm still certain that it will be in the 85% range. Once it actually comes out, there will be tons of negatives I'm sure they will be to the gist of "cuz superhero flicks suck"

Still, the Tomato meter can be wrong sometimes. It's not often but usually if the scores are rotten I won't waste my $$ at the theater. I think that's the only reason for it. To gauge whether or not you should waste your time and money on a Movie or wait for redbox.

GCA just can't come to terms with the reality that Snyder has no idea what he's doing if he really wants to make a legit comic book movie instead of the bland, generic, joyless and colorless disaster porn he shits out onto the big screen.

He just can't come to terms that Marvel, not DC but Marvel knows what they're doing, how they respect and understand their characters and put out stories that showcase why the characters are what they are.

It took me about a year and a half to really see how MoS just fell apart as a comic book movie even though it's a good alien movie using comic book characters but it wasn't a Superman movie. BvS was just funny to watch as a pathetic and disjointed mess that Snyder hackishly calls a comic book movie with good portrayals of Superman and Batman.

Cliffsnotes so we don't have to sit through a seven minute video?

Replace Zack Snyder with someone better. They run through several idea and settle on Paul Dini and Bruce Timm.
