can someone help explain Rick and morty

It seems like a really fun show but I just catch an episode here or there. I figured it wasn't a show that you had to watch every episode to get the just of, but I find myself confused with the multiple Rick and morty's put there. Can someone explain it to me.

Infinite universes, thus infinite Rick and Mortys. Though the only ones that interact are from the "finite space curve." Rick has a portal gun that he can travel through dimensions/universes with.
Many episodes are great stand alone. Some you need a little background for. Keep watching and "Get Schwifty"

Well you see Rick uses his squanch to squanch all over the squanch with Morty. They have to squanch sometimes because of the squanches, but they're the squanchiest squanches in the universe.

It started as a parody of Back to the Future called Doc and Mahrty. It changed to become Rick and Morty.
It's a show where they can do almost anything and go anywhere and since they have infinite realities anything can happen.
