The Hoverboard announced a few weeks ago goes on presale in 44 minutes (from this post). Since the shoes last summer went for, like, $5 grand, this is a steal. The item doesn't ship until November/December, since Mattel is waiting for a certain number of pre-orders before they begin production.

Now, since I don't have a wife, and my house is decorated like Josh Baskin's apt, I'm all in. Anyone else?

Movie-accurate down to the smallest detail and fully sanctioned by Universal Studios, this is a 1:1 scale model (measures approximately 28" x 8" x 3"). Our Hoverboard includes authentic "whooshing" sounds sampled directly from the films and a deco featuring Mattel logos just like in the films. And although full hovering technology isn't expected until 2015, be assured your Hoverboard will gently glide over most level surfaces (it will not, however, work on water).

You can go frick yourself, Mattel.

Is there a disclaimer on the box that says "Non-functional. Decorative piece only." ??

Because you know some dumb frick from the Midwest is going to try and return this because "it don't fly."

I already bought the shoes and jacket. I am definitely in. My crazy next door neighbor is a wild-eyed old man who claims to be a scientist. He tells me that he has already invented hovering technology, so I am good to go.

Search E-bay. They had some on there a while back. E-bay is blocked at work. Sorry.

did it charge your card?

I was kind of confused as to how they charged?

When you place a pre-order for your Hoverboard, your bank card will be pre-authorized $120 plus shipping/taxes/fees for each Hoverboard you order. Your bank will "reserve" this amount from your available balance until your Hoverboard(s) ships in November/December, at which time you will be charged. Orders may not be modified or cancelled once they are placed. If you need to change your card information or shipping address, please call Customer Service at 1-877-GO-MATTY.

looks like the 120 is removed from available balance, and when it ships in november it will be subtracted from ledger balance.

must be easier for them to do it that way in case not enough are ordered, and they dont actually go into production.

Thought long and hard about it, but couldn't quite pull the trigger on it. I'm not married but I do try to keep my condo from looking like the guy from the 40-year old virgin.

woah now...not 40 year old virgin...no figurines or anything, just some tasteful prints...

...like batman walking with the cast of law and order, and a cave drawing featuring the dukes of hazard...and a signed photo of Verne Lundquist. Just things that a normal guy would have...including a hoverboard...

whatever...I've had sex, like, 7 times...and I have the receipts for each and every one of them!

I also laughed at your Josh Baskin comment. You need a Zoltar machine in your crib.
