Just finished this one. What a great season finale. John Silver is by far my favorite character on television right now.

For me it's both Silver and Flint and the dynamic between the two. This episode was masterfully done, weaving together their talk with how the events unfolded.

Don't get me wrong, the finale was excellent, but I felt a little let down. After all the build up throughout this season the finale just felt deflating to me.
I wanted more Teach. I wanted to see that whole British flotilla sent to the bottom. Teach sent 2 cannon balls long-ways down the lead British ship and the captain decides to retreat? I was hoping for more there and to see Teach and Rackham go all out.
I also didn't like the way Hornigold went out. He deserved a more gruesome departing after all he's done to betray his pirate brothers. Flint should have went all John Silver on him in a similar way Silver did Dupre.
I am excited to see how the making of the Long John Silver Legend plays out on Nassau and to see where Flint, Teach and Rackham do from here.

They captured one of the fleet's ships and wrecked the flagship. The Brits weren't going to stay and fight at that point it'd have been suicide.

I was actually blown away by how perfect they did this imo. Seeing flint pick up that rifle and then start loading it was so badass and a unique way to do it. By the way, a 2nd watch of this episode makes it even better bc the conversation between silver and flint has so much impact early on when you thought the guy did betray silver on the original watchthrough.
I started this show on Saturday morning last weekend, and then finished it sunday night. I marathoned hardcore. I had to force myself to keep watching after about 3 episodes bc the beginning was so slow, but after that it hooked me. I only started it bc I saw someone on here talking about how good this last season was and then that same day I listened to a special on NPR about the guy that did the musical score for the show, and they were playing samples of music and it sounded bad arse.
I'm not going t lie either, I didn't even realize this was a treasure island prequel until they say long john silver at the end of this episode. I never read the book or saw the movie but I knew that name. Guess I'm kind of retarded but it made the ending of that episode even better.
Can't remember the last show I thought about for so much time after watching it all; this show is just masterfully done. It is in my top 5 favorite shows ever, maybe a short term exaggeration but I fkn love it.
I love all the parts that are about pirate nuances, like the scene where flint is commentating the boarding of that merchant ship when he isn't captain temporarily. He's talking about raising the black at the right time and managing the captain etc. I just really love this show and think everyone should be watching it.

i might be in the minority, but i love Jack Rackmans character. anyone else?
also, where does the Long in Long John Silver come from?
Also, did they say if the governor was dead or not?
