I really started getting into shorts after I saw "The Accountant" directed by/starring Ray McKinnon... Since then I've binge watched many more short subject films... Mostly Oscar winners/nominees ... God of Love, Helium, Stutterer (2015 Oscar winner) , Visas and Virtue.

An Andalusian Dog (1929) and An Occurence at Owl Creek (1962) are both very good as well.

Alive in Joburg is only 6 minutes but worth watching.. It's an intro to District 9.

Ray McKinnon's 'The Accountant' is far and away my favorite so far.

3 minutes of simple, profound storytelling:

Kiwi! (original)

Kiwi! (Mad World Version)

I actually prefer the Mad World edit - Happier....sadder...better.

Great story.

However, if you want a modern twist of An Occurrence at Owl Creek as a full length movie, just watch Jacob's Ladder.

Jacob's Ladder is heavily influenced by Owl Creek which (in my opinion) is why Jacob's Ladder is so damn good!

An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge (1962)

Was the first short I ever saw...as a kid.

Parents said it was a classic, so we owned it.
