I rarely watch new shows, but I watched all of Mad Men and would recommend it. You'll know by the end of the first or second episode whether you want to continue. I was hooked about 20 minutes in.

Homeland Seems interesting.
I was thinking about starting Sopranos.
I don't get the hype with GoT. They killed the best character end of Season 1, and during Season 2 I just started to hate everyone hoping they would all get killed. Got to the point I couldn't watch anymore.
Mad Men was ok. I liked the characters, was a little dull for me I guess.

Wow, I guess its not for everyone but Game of Thrones is one of my all time favorites. Sopranos is very good, and the first 2 seasons of Homeland are great. It dips a bit after that but still worth watching for sure.

If you want the best series ever that will hook you right from the start and make you finish it within a month, go with LOST. It's really the first show that started off with this in mind and just kept on pressing on fricking with you every damn episode. It's just glorious and must watch television for anyone who has seen as many shows as you have.

You should stick with Game of Thrones at least through season 3. If you aren't totally in by then, you should probably just give up tv.

LOST is awesome.

Others I like are Nip/Tuck and Sons of Anarchy. FX usually does a pretty good job, or at least they used to.
