Tons to choose from here. Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Superman, E.T., Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, and so forth. I like the Star Wars theme, and the Imperial March from Empire Strikes Back

Indiana Jones really pulls at my heart strings.

Those are the easy ones, but you're missing stuff like The Mission, Cinema Paradiso, Lawrence of Arabia, Patton, The Last Samurai etc.
And stuff like Total Recall, which is a Totally (pun intended) underrated score and is incredibly magnificent. One of my Top 5's.

Just listen to that thing, so awesome. They do not make film scores like that anymore.
I'd say Superman is probably #1 with SW a close #2.
My single favorite piece of music might be Last of the Mohicans: LINK
Another underrated score that takes a bit from LotM and is just as superb: LINK

Has anyone said "Rocky" yet?
If not, why not? It's #1.

True, those were easy, but I guess they were just examples. Dances With Wolves is good too, along with James Bond, Terminator, Home Alone, and even Gone With the Wind. Even horror flicks have good themes: Halloween, Exorcist, Friday the 13th... Like I said, lots to choose from. Simply a matter of opinion. There is no wrong answer. I should have titled the thread "favorite theme" instead of "best theme"

Also great... Ennio Morricone is the man.
Someone (not me) should turn this into a tournament.

Probably in the minority here, but I've always loved the theme for 'Requiem for a Dream'. I thought it fit the film perfectly.
