Best and worst actor on Game of Thrones

Best: Either Peter Dinklage or Lena Headey (IDK if I've ever hated a character as much as I hate Cersei)
Worst: Emilia Clarke (She has the look for the part but I don't really care for Daenerys too much and I'm starting to realize it's the way she is portraying her)

Best: There really are a lot of great actors on the show, but I thought Charles Dance was the best in his role.

I think Aidan has done a real good job.
I think that while they have cast Mace Tyrell as a loof where in the books he's more ambitious but the actor just does zero for me.

Charles Dance probably did the best job, thus far. Dinklage is right there, though - I'll grant you. No clear 3rd.
I'm not as enamored of Headey as some others - don't get me wrong, she's done well, but the role is set up for home run after home run - Dinklage has done more with Tyrion than Headey has done with Cersei.
It's early, but Pryce has been brilliant so far. The scene with him and Queen of Thorns (Emma Peel) was a real treat - two of the best actors on the show.
Wick has done well as Theon. Maisie has really grown into Arya.
Finn Jones and Sophie Turner are the least impressive of those we've seen a lot of. (ETA: And Emelia Clarke is down there with them.)

I'm like 20% through ACoK so far, but I feel like the book version is possessed of a little more smug levity than what we see from the HBO version. Almost every scene he's depicted as basically having a sardonic smile, like he's 5 steps ahead of everyone else (and he more or less is) and doesn't care that other characters realize he's 5 steps ahead.

Best: Chales Dance. He could take over the scene from both Peter and Lena pretty easily, and they're both great actors. Also was able to take it from Joffrey's actor, who is also great.
Worst: Aiden Gillian for sure. I watched the first season and then started reading the books, and he's really the only character that I don't see the actor when I'm reading the books. Great character, but from Aiden's performance, I don't buy for a second that they wouldn't have executed LF by now.

100% agree. Cersei would have chopped that dude's head off for the way he talked to her this season

Yeah, i forgot about renly. He wasnt that great, and while i admit the sand snakes are awful (cough cough keisha castle hughes) i dont consider them major enough characters right now.
Im surprised by all the littlefinger answers though. To me he isn't the best, but I do enjoy his character a lot.

He's a great character, but his portrayal is pretty bad. Aiden can't get his voice down at all, and he is so squirrelly, in real life they would have killed him for sure with that performance. GRRM himself has said he has a problem with his portrayal and think that he's the most different from book to show than any of his other characters.

dinklage's character is overplayed, imo ... not his fault ... i think the guy playing stannis has done the best job ... or tywin lannister ...

To be fair, book readers hate Dany in Mereen too, so maybe Emilia Clarke is portraying her well.
