Yes, Warners’ film studio chief Toby Emmerich tells The Hollywood Reporter, "Ben is our Batman. We love him as Batman. We want to keep him in the cowl as long as we can." And Matt Reeves, who will direct the studio’s still-undated (and unwritten) The Batman, has said that he means to keep Affleck in the role. But a source with knowledge of the situation says that the studio is working on plans to usher out Affleck’s Batman — gracefully, addressing the change in some shape or form in one of the upcoming DC films.

Exactly when and how that might happen has yet to be determined, but it would be wise to bet against Affleck starring in The Batman.

Recast. Reeves is talking about doing a trilogy, so he probably wants to go with a much younger actor. IMO, they're getting away from Snyder's vision and basically rebooting the whole thing.

Why? He's far from iconic in the role but he's one of the few parts that work in that universe so far.

The only problems I see barring some behind the scenes bullshite is that Affleck probably costs a fortune and he'll be 80 by the time The Batman finally gets made.

I think it has to be the latter. It can be done pretty well since Bruce is already super old in the current universe.

They've killed off one robin already so they need to either introduce another or introduce Nightwing

That would be awesome. That's always been my favorite suit from the Batman universe.

Trilogy?

First movie: Batman with Dick Grayson as Robin.

Second Movie: Batman with Jason Todd as Robin and Dick Grayson as Nightwing.

Third Movie: Under the Red Hood.

Make the movies more about Dick Grayson with Batman as the backdrop and then the last movie catches the time line up to the current DCEU and Nightwing takes Batman's place in the Justice League.

There you go.
Absolutely perfect trilogy.
Make it happen DC.

what i really wanna know is a robin type suit going to look good on the big screen? i mean, it's too colorful in my opinion. the closest i think anyone got was tim drake in arkham city/knight and that was a video game.

we need the Vince McMahon reaction gif where his reaction gets more and more pumped up after the reveal of each of these movie descriptions.

Well there would have to be a 10-15 year difference between the second and third Batman if they did it that way

I mean, that's a good thing and all, but what a complete and total clusterfrick.

The Robin costume from Batman v. Superman would look comical with someone actually wearing it:

Short shorts and knee-high boots? lol
