I hated on Batman Begins all throughout production, especially when the photos of the batsuit and batmobile were officially released. After I saw it in theaters I learned never to question a film before opening night again. When Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker I thought it was interesting and defended the choice on the forums.

I actually don't think Affleck would be that bad from strictly an acting standpoint. I just think he might be too distracting.

Yep. I feel like all I am going to see on screen is Affleck.

Bet the "Bale taking the role would ruin the Nolan trilogy crowd," wish that Bale would have signed on.

I will say there have been surprise castings that have worked out in the past. Hathaway and Ledger come to mind.

Well, god damnit. I like Affleck as a filmmaker, but as an actor, not so much. More proof this movie is going to fricking suck.

The Marvel Movie U has been across the board far better than average.

With the exception of Iron Man and The Avengers the Marvel U films have been just about average.

The Incredible Hulk was so dull I fell asleep in the theater through part of it. Iron Man 2 and 3 were both mediocre. Captain America was decent and Thor was pretty good. However...to call the films "better than average" would be an incorrect statement.

I don't understand why people are freaking over the casting (I do get the "All I'll see is Affleck sentiment). The guy is a solid actor.

Go watch Hollywoodland if anyone think's he can't do it.

He also has the imposing size to match Cavill, and he's got a good mug for the cowl.

We should all be more worried about the forced nature of the DC Universe, the terrible premise, and the fact that this could never work on film given MoS. I just don't see it. Nor do I see Snyder, and I like the guy, being deft enough to handle the idea that the city-leveling Superman is somehow for an entire 2 hours seeing a threat in Batman.

Ben Affleck is the GOOD part about the film. Everything else sucks.

Yeah, seriously. If he were the writer, director, or producer, it would give me hope. But as the actor, frick no.

So the only movie that was below average was IH. The rest were average or above? Sounds just like this:

And most were better than you have given them credit for.

Don't be one of those who believe they didn't sulk in their self-loathing a la Noaln's Batman so they weren't as "complex," and "deep," right?

There's probably a reason Warner Brothers wasted millions upon millions of dollars for almost 20 years unsuccessfully trying to make a Superman movie.

They have no idea what they're doing with their superhero franchises. At least they finally told Jon Peters to stay the frick away. They were lucky that Nolan came along to bail their asses out.

Interesting all the hate for Ben considering the last several movies he's been involved with have all been good. Also this reaction is a bit reminiscent of the reaction when Ledger was named as the joker. Let's keep that in mind

Because he's made them. He's a very gifted filmmaker and writer, but he is not a good actor. I think I'd make a good filmmaker, but I know I'd fricking blow as an actor. Some people just don't have it in them. He's mediocre at acting, and should by no means be Batman. He's best acting in his own material that he truly understands, not stuff given to him.

And even in that capacity he's just average. I never really accept him as a character, he's just Ben Affleck playing a dude.

I think people need to be more concerned that Warner Bros is trying to force this crossover more than who is donning the cape and cowl.

Oh trust me, I see it. This is just absolute confirmation it's going to blow. Let Ben Affleck make his own movies. They're always great. Don't make him Batman, who is a terrible choice and will overwhelm the role with his presence. Affleck is no Christian Bale.

I mean his role in Daredevil was basically a Bruce Wayne/Batman type of character. I'm sure he's improved over the last 10 years, but let's just say that his performance in that was less than impressive.

I'd also add Iron Man 2 and 3 to that category:

Iron Man - A-
The Incredible Hulk - D
Iron Man 2 - C-
Thor - B
Captain America - B-
The Avengers - B+
Iron Man 3 - C-

People can't shite on Daredevil without seeing the Director's Cut. Sorry. That movie was shredded in post-production. The real version is actually fairly good.
