Let's be honest.

No one was seeing this expecting cinematic excellence.

Crazy, but they were hotter in the original show, and that was on network TV, not an R rated movie

Saw it last week and thought it was pretty good for a comedy. Some cheesy and dumb moments, but had me laughing out loud a lot. No nude chicks but tons of tits & arse. Not going to win an Oscar but it was certainly better than a 10% score... I wouldn't have saw it in theaters if it wasn't free but definitely worth checking out when it comes out on vhs.

It's not like the original series was a critical juggernaut.

Well some of the bad reviews seem to have been written by politically correct SJWs...and they don't like the movie because it's not an updated Ghostbuster SJW vehicle piece.

But even as it adds R-rated language and nudity, "Baywatch" remains as out of touch as an old Playboy party joke. The idea of guys touching other guys (or - ugh - giving mouth-to-mouth) is gross. A scene of Efron disguising himself by putting on a dress is meant to be a laugh riot. It's not.

Nor are the movie's other attitudes particularly up to date. Just casting the multi-racial Johnson does not get you a pass - certainly not when the villain is a greedy South Asian woman, the guest list at a corrupt Latino politician's party consists of drugged-up Latina sexpots, and most of the comic relief comes from a pudgy nerd making jokes about Hebrew school.

I legit love the RT review that says "congrats Dax Sheppard you no longer have the worst old TV show to film adaptation of the year".

Yeah I'll watch it on a premium cable channel when it comes out this fall or whatever but no amount of PRETTY WOMENZ would make me want to pay to see a bad movie at a theatre.

I don't rely on RT too much when it comes to comedies

I think you can when its at 11%. If its mixed and you're fans of the people behind it, go for it?

But 11%? Yikes.

FYI, most great comedies are at the least mixed in reviews, if not very well reviewed.

I saw the movie at an early screening last week

Honestly, it wasn't that bad. Kind of cheesy at times, but a pretty good watch otherwise

Rotten tomatoes is notorious for panning raunchy comedies. frick RT in most situations and especially comedy.

21 jump street seems like an extremely high bar to have for this movie

I'm gonna go see this, and hoping for atleast a Neighbors level of decent comedy.

Dirty Grandpa is at 11% and I laughed my arse off.

Rotten Tomatoes sucks anyway.

Meh, trailers look funny and The Rock is in it. I'll be seeing it, hopefully it's funny. Not too interested in the story, it's a comedy, so hopefully the jokes land and it's just rated so low because the story is lame or something.

Disagree. Most dumb comedies that are good mindless fun, like Daddy's Home, are in the 30's
