I'm really intrigued to see what this 3 hour long version looks like, especially after yesterday's release of the following deleted scene that will be restored in the blu ray edition:

LINK

That 45-second clip alone would have made Lex Luthor's final scene much less confusing.

Something tells me Snyder really dropped the ball in editing and tore apart what might have been a decent or even a good film for the sake of time.

From his own words:

quote:

it’s a deeper dive into that world and there are storylines in there that get fleshed out by the longer version

quote:

but there was some sort of interstitial stuff that surrounds the story, that kind of finishes some of the ideas that we trimmed back, and I think that’s what you get

quote:

Then there’s a little bit longer ending, sort of the ending sequence, and the opening of the movie, the North Africa sequence is really much different. It was in there until very recently, so all of it’s finished. It was really just a function of time, to be honest.

So what you're telling us is that two of the most confusing moments in the film (the desert scene and the ending sequence) are more fleshed out/completely different?

Screw you.

quote:

I’m not James Cameron who’s like ‘No it’s three hours, suck it!’, which is cool by the way. I just wanted to try and get it to a length that is work-able.

And you wonder why Cameron is a good filmmaker and you are not? Because you leave shite that would make the story make sense on the cutting room floor!!!!

That monster looks far more like TRIGON than it does Darkseid.

Trigon actually would be a very cool adversary to put on film as an interdimensional threat.

In fact, if Warner really wanted to get ballsy with the whole multiverse aspect, they could have Trigon cross over and threaten the TV show universes as well.

I think it's either Snyder's take on Steppenwolf:

Or Yuga Khan:

ETA: If Lex is speaking to him, it's more than likely Steppenwolf. If he's looking at history, like Superman was with Jor-EL in Man of Steel, it's probably Yuga Khan.

I'm really intrigued to see it as well because I WANT this film and the series to work.

How fricking cool is it that Batman and Superman were on the big screen?

It should have been an easy movie. Just let us enjoy it.

I hope the three hour edition helps. I only see that happening if they redo almost the entire's film editing and not only add in 30 more minutes of footage.

Kingdom of Heaven had similar problems.

The theatrical edition was 2 1/2 hours long because FOX made Ridley Scott cut out 30 minutes of footage so they could have more daily showings. The result was a film that holds a 39% on Rotten Tomatoes (not too dissimilar from Batman v. Superman's current score). When those 30 minutes were restored to the Director's Cut it made the film so much better. It turned a 5/10 film into a 7.5 or 8/10 film.

Now Ridley Scott is a better filmmaker than Zack Snyder but I have a hunch that Terrio's story was butchered on the cutting room floor for the sake of getting it down to a "workable" run time. Whether or not adding all that footage back into the movie will make it better is anyone's guess at this moment.

I liked KoH. I loved the Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut.

I didn't like BvS. The BvS Director's Cut will probably be a much better "movie" as in more coherent and better edited. But the shitty cgi, poor writing, disrespectful to source material, bullshite will still be there.

I think the studio is more at fault than you think. When he says "I'm not James Cameron", I think he means that he doesn't have the authority like Cameron does. And when he says "try and get it to a length that is work-able", I think he might mean workable for the studio. Just my opinion.

Not even Ridley Scott had the authority to make the complete movie he wanted. It's a hard thing to acquire.

The pets where I was confused are my fault. I'm just not as familiar with the DC universe as I am Marvel.

I do see where a person that's only exposure to DC is nipples on the bat suit would be confused as shite with this movie.

100% of the time the director isn't blamed for this. Please give some insight on why the director would be this time

Because Warner Bros. gave Zack Snyder virtual creative control over Batman v. Superman and the early stages of the DCEU.

While it's easy to blame the suits in charge of the studio, there is no evidence that they tampered with this film in any way.

The directors cut of Watchmen was much better than the theatrical release.

I love BvS and I can't wait for the extended cut.

WB’s plan is to seemingly give their filmmakers a great deal of creative freedom,
. A "great deal" doesn't mean "complete" and creative might not extend to runtime
