They actually included them in the teasers, but I guess no one (including myself) even noticed. If there was a spoiler tag on the OP subject line, I'd link the pictures.

That looks like a part of the desert-Batman sequence. And we're now pretty sure where that scene fits in.

If true, it's the best thing to happen to a DC film since Chris Reeves.

If it's the photo I'm thinking of, it's during Batman's nightmare and I pretty much assumed that character was going to come along in the future. I would think he would only be teased in this movie.

Yeah, it's in his nightmare. I'm guessing we might get a small introduction at the end, maybe even with the trio temporarily holding off an "exploratory" type move by the character or something. And then we'll get the full thing in the JL movie.

ETA: The OP really needs to throw a spoiler tag in the subject line, because it's gonna be hard hint around at this without spoiling it.

I think we finally see that Batman is the aggressor in the conflict. He feels exactly the same way that half of the world feels. Some praise him as a God, some think of him as an enemy. Some people think he helped destroy Metropolis, while some think he saved the world (sounds a lot like this board, actually ). Much like Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen. I think the concept is pretty spot on. I love it.

All of this, of course... but I think a motivating factor that hasn't been really discussed yet is that we are thinking that Batman follows this chain of logic, without considering his ego.

Batman is a very wealthy and powerful man. And he has been busting arse defending Gotham City for decades. He's doing what he thinks he needs to do to take out the garbage, and he's had endure pain and sacrifice to to do it. And he's not even that popular in his own city. People are afraid of him, and some have the opinion that he's a psycho. He's not loved for what he does.

And here comes Superman, out of nowhere, a god damned alien at that. He's more dangerous than Batman could ever be, and despite a battle with an equally-powered alien that killed thousands of people, he is revered, and Batman is not.

That's your dark undercurrent for Batman right there.

Agreed, but wait until the film to show us that. There's no need to release that to the media.

I agree. It would have been a cool thing to see first on the big screen.

i pretty much thought it would be darkseid involved since those things flying around in that same "nightmare" scene looked to be parademons.

Yep. DC has a prime opportunity here to bring us complex and interesting characters with well thought out motivations. Let's hope they don't frick it up. If people can just get past the fact that this Superman is not the Superman of old, I think their viewing experience would drastically improve.

I read the 1st few JL storylines when it went to the New 52 (that they are now basing the animated movies on now), but I haven't read any from the past year or so.

i would highly recommend looking into the other issues. if not you could just start with the most recent stuff called Darkseid War.

it also feels like a lot of that will influence this movie as well since thats how the most current JLA incarnation was started. so itll be interesting to see which direction they would go in after the first JLA movie.

Darkseid

Not to be contrarian, but I see a lot of love for this character on this site and that lead me to look into him. He just doesn't seem that interesting, just a big strong alien with laser eyes who hates Superman.

Maybe just cause I never read DC growing up, but I feel like I'm missing something with this character. What's the draw?
