Basically they are trying to trick the uninformed audience to think its really batman V superman when its really the start of the series of Justice League and their on going fight with Doomsday.

You have to be pretty dumb to fall for this. The trailers show them getting along and joking around and Wonder Woman showing up when Doomsday is released.

But I agree the marketing is borderline retarded.

I think I read somewhere that Doomsday is a trailer smoke screen and the real big bad is a reveal in the movie. If that's true, and it's not Luthor related, the movie is going to be all over the place trying to introduce 5 main story heros and villains in one movie is insane.

The recipe that doomed Spider Man 3 and The Amazing Spider Man 2.

A lot of Man of Steel supporters have always defended the notion that thousands of people didn't die at the end of that film.

This scene confirms that they did.

You don't know whether this will be the case or not. Settle down brother IMO, I believe the movie will focus on Supes, Lex, and most of all Batman. Wonder woman's role will probably be minor.

I'll give DC this, Superman is responsible for more deaths than every MCU villain combined.

That was m biggest gripe with Ultron. The voice, personality, design, everything was awesome and spot on. But Marvel pussied out. They should've let him kill a bunch of people before the avengers stopped him. It would've set civil war up amazingly.

Let's hope all of this so far is a brilliant smokescreen:

I do agree that the marketing has been beyond awful for this film. But I've seen several interviews with the cast and they all rave about Luthors part of the script, Terrio really focused on giving Lex the best dialogue of the film. I really believe this version of Lex will surprise us.

It better. I will say DC has shown they will go dark and kill people and let the world get fricked up. I'm interested to see Lex's transition in the movie from stupid hipster assclown to Lex Luthor. I just can't believe that Eisenberg can pull the character off. I'll be the first to sing his praises if he does.

Yea the trailer pretty much showed this. They fight each other then end up joining forces with Wonderwoman to fight Doomsday. Meh

These short spots are looking better and better.

I'm astounded that people have a problem with Batman going after Superman for the civilian deaths in Man of Steel... since there was such a huge outcry on this board about that very fact.

While we've seen a lot of footage, I don't think that we've "seen the entire movie". We've seen snippets of the characters and a lot of punching and scowling.

If you think that they're showing too much, then stop watching the trailers and commercials. I go to a ton of movies and I've yet to see a Superman V Batman trailer in a B.R. theater. If you've seen the trailers then you've been actively searching them out. There are movies that I don't want advance knowledge of and it's pretty easy to avoid the commercials.

Yeah, Ultron is the perfect villain to set up Civil War. Aside from destroying a city in a third world country (with absolute minimal casualties), what did he do? I think the world may be a bit pissed at the Avengers over it, but it was far from the public eye. Ultron should have butchered Johannesburg and Seoul. That would have made his point on how terrifying he is and given the plot some tension.

I thought it was lame that the "Age of Ultron"

Was like 4 or 5 days.

One of the reasons I'm excited about SvB is because of the tension and death. Superman saved the world, but a frick load of people died and it's set up the universe and the world very interestingly.

quote:

With almost 0 casualties.

The movie would've ended better if the avengers couldn't evacuate everyone on time, and they were able to slow the falling city down, but not stop it and it killed a shite load of people. Then they kill Ultron.

Or even if Ultron had successful Smashed one of those flying aircraft carriers and everyone aboard including the saved civilians died.

But before all of that, Ultron should've annihilated a city before the avengers even knew what was going on. That would've been amazing. Spader did an amazing job voicing Ultron and he was set up so well, but like all Marvel villains outside of Loki and Bucky, he just fell short because the Studio put too many strings into the movie.

But Marvel has been very scared to kill anyone. I think Civil War might change that. Atleast I hope so.

Deadpool is going to be amazing.

I think we finally see that Batman is the aggressor in the conflict. He feels exactly the same way that half of the world feels. Some praise him as a God, some think of him as an enemy. Some people think he helped destroy Metropolis, while some think he saved the world (sounds a lot like this board, actually ). Much like Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen. I think the concept is pretty spot on. I love it.

I think another issue with the trailers is how different they feel from Man of Steel. BvS seems to be drifting towards a Marvel movie with lots of grey scale whereas MoS felt different than any superhero movie I've seen in a while. It was dark and a bit surreal and really grabbed my attention with Superman's struggles.

Maybe I'm the only one that likes MoS.

I think DC has the opportunity to really look at the internal conflict of these characters. DC has always had complex characters with really dark personal struggles. Marvel is more about the shiny glitter and gold and having fun. I really hope BvS capitalizes on the potential of DC's characters.

I think they are trying to go more comic book now (thank God). The score sounds very similar to MoS, though. LINK I'm still not sure how close the movie will be to MoS. We'll see.

You're not. It's probably 50/50 at worst.

I feel like they're trying to backtrack from their f* up in their 2nd trailer when we find out it isn't really a "VS" movie.

We all know they team up by now.
