The first 30 minutes of this movie are some of the worst I've ever seen. Even if limited to the action / adventure / superhero /monster categories.

It's pretty blah overall. Civil war will redeem it.

It was a massive letdown. I don't know if Whedon choked or there was just too much studio interference.

yeah, the movie overall kind of sucked. Down there with Iron Man 2/3 in terms of Marvel movies, imo.

Was the whole movie filmed using a grey filter?

I'm hoping the former, but thinking the later. Was a big misfire on Ultron. Ultron should have been fricking terrifying, but Loki probably killed more people simply attacking SHIELD in the opening scene than Ultron killed total in his film.

All of that plus the attempted banter makes me cringe. And the while hulk Natasha thing does the same.

It was not good, as much as I wanted it to be.

The whole MCU is getting stale. There have been some fantastic movies, but this has been going on since 2008. It is getting old.

Civil War needs to deliver.

I think they just painted themselves into a corner. You had to juggle so many different personalities in a movie that has to inform the future of multiple other movies. It just loses some luster because an adversary like ultron was done away with in a single episode and we only lost one character that we had only just met an hour before. Meanwhile, we gained two new characters to the team and saw war machine be used as a member of the avengers while getting some vague references to Black Panther. There was just nothing really at stake

If it delivers on some casualties to the team, it will reenergize things. The room is getting too crowded and nobody seems to be in danger of being killed off right now

The original is only good for being the first team up film. Without the wow factor of seeing all the heroes on the same screen, it's almost entirely devoid of a plot and character development and consists of dudes arguing on a floating aircraft carrier for 2 hours until a big battle in the final 30 minutes.

Ultron was a disappointing villain, but this movie had way more meat too it.

It is definitely suffering from the same thing the movie Lucy did. No real danger to the protagonist so no real drama.

This. I watched it for the first time today since the theater and the writing was just bad. Black Widow and Hulk was not working on screen. Too much forced humor and nothing felt like it was at stake like in previous movies. Choke job by Whedon as much as I hate to admit it. It kinda ruined the genre for me until I went and watched Ant Man and enjoyed it.

Moving forward, they really need to kill it with the next few movies. Take risks. Not just with character deaths but with plot

Personally, I don't think Whedon knows how to write Cap-who was coming off the best movie in Phase 2.

It seemed like regression of how bad arse the Russos made him in TWS.

Watched it last night as well. When I saw it in theaters, i guess the theater experience masked how terrible it was bc i realized last night it really was bad
