Friend had it on TV last night. He wasn't really watching it, just on in the background.

Anyway, cops get a call to the ghetto by a woman. When they arrive, woman complains to cops that another woman (points to house) stole $20 from her by taking her money and selling her bad crack that wasn't any good.

Some people live horrible lives.

Live PD, It's much better than Cops.
Only thing is it comes on Friday nights at 9.

When you're high or really drunk, there's nothing better to watch than Cops or those police chase shows.
I swear, there's no way I could be a police officer. To have people just look you in the eye and lie to you, like you're a drooling moron. "I don't know how that empty bottle of whisky ended up in the passenger seat of my car and that crack ended up in my pants pocket. Someone must have put them there. I don't smoke crack." I would end up snapping and pistol-whipping someone.

I tune it in every now and then. That show has not changed a bit in 30 years... LOL

Still very entertaining

One of my favorite moments

Old drunk man parks his truck in the median between two lanes of a highway. Passes out. Cop pulls up behind him and approaches the window. Old man gets out of the truck and falls down. Cop asked him "Sir, how much have you had to drink today"?

Old man - "Obviously too much"

Haha that is awesome.

There was an episode with a drunk guy crying in the street. He's all battered and covered in blood. Cop asks what's wrong, and guy says his sisters keep beating him up. Cop asks him how many sisters he has, and guy replies 9 before bursting into tears.

Cops may be the greatest comedy in TV history.

One of the funniest ones I had seen was the cops got called out for a panhandler off of the Las Vegas strip. So they drive up and it's this man who is about 3 1/2 feet tall, and he's doing backflips in front of these tourists who are obviously not interested. So the cops go to arrest him, he runs up to a light pole and tries to scurry up the light pole. The cop is just standing there and I think he's just trying not to laugh.

So instead of arresting him, I think they bring him to an entertainment venue where the performers are just little people and he ends up getting a job

I've always contended it was the only real reality TV. I used to watch it a whole lot, but have moved on to The First 48. Have never thought about it but maybe I've become more serious.

With both shows my favorite episodes were the ones form the cities where I've lived or spent a good bit of time (Dallas/Ft. Wort, NOLA, Houston, Denver). So cool to recognize areas you've been through as you see them driving around.

Watching Cops educated me to the craziness the is Florida before social media and trash news websites were around. By far one of the best background watches out there.

I disagree. It's much too long. I get that people may be DVR'ing it, but then it's not live.

I don't like how they will leave one traffic stop, go to another one and then come back to the first one without showing what happened in between. It makes the whole concept of it being "Live" kind of a joke.

Don't really like the guys hosting the show asking the cops questions after a stop either.

I guess it being live doesn't allow them to just sit at one traffic stop for the duration where nothing notable happens. "Cops" had the benefit of not using footage of a stop if it was just routine. No telling how much video "Cops" has, that they never use.

The couple of times I watched it, it seemed very boring compared to "Cops."

Religiously watched that show in the early-mid 90s.
