Is it basically another Apple TV and Roku? Or can you actually get TV shows and such? And how does it compare to Apple, Hulu, Roku?

Um...Sling TV and Hulu are apps that run on Apple TV and Roku. Yes, you can get actual channels. Google it

Sling TV is okay. I wasn't super impressed. That's why the cable guy is here right now setting me up. However, if you really need to save money, it is a viable option.

I have it because I only watch live sports on TV so it was the cheapest option with the most sports channels. Everything is in HD quality and its only 25$ a month with the extended sports package. Does the job for me without shelling out an extra 75$ a month to cable or satellite

We tried Sling with the free trial but had too many jumps and buffering issues to justify the monthly charge. I don't mind waiting until shows finally show up on Netflix, I prefer to binge watch anyway. Not going back to cable until all debt is paid off and I have money to blow because it really is a waste.
