"Honest to god, I thought turkeys could fly." What a great show.

A rerun staple in the 80's.

Grew up on this and Good Times and The Jeffersons. That was after the 3:PM Chicago Cubs game called by Harry Carry. The youth of today are so fricked......

Johnny: The time is 6:07 in the morning, and it's time for this message.
Commercial: Wouldn't a delicious, ice-cold beer taste particularly good right now? Sure it would!

Great show. Liked Les Nessman as well.

Les Nessman:
"Have you ever wondered why Russian women look like men?"
Bailey: "I hadn't noticed."
Les: "I think they kidnap men from all around the world, take them to Moscow and turn them into Russian women.
That's what I think happened to Jimmy Hoffa. By now he's probably a grandmother in the Ukraine."

Anyone else watch WKRP years ago?
Absolutely. Lived in Ohio as a kid. That made the show even better.
WKRP and Bosom Buddies....classic stuff.

Les beating his chest during the "traffic report" because he didn't have a helicopter

Have been binge watching for a few hours just to remember...
I swear every episode has great crazy monologues and this is the last show I saw, with Mr. Carlson:
Mr. Carlson, wake-up, Mr. Carlson:
"Oh sure, you people have your petty little problems, what about me? I've gotta deal with my mother every single day. Here's a woman who could disarm Patton in a second.
Trouble? My life is full of trouble. My wife is pregnant, 12 year old son wants to join the American Nazi Party. Sure I'm conservative!, but that's nuts.
For his birthday he wants an automatic weapon...keeps talking about taking Ohio first."
Ah, simpler times. How could you ever say this on sitcom TV today and have it be funny?

Loved it. Still watch an episode on the net from time to time and it's still hilarious. Great characters.

Reading this list brings back a lot of childhood memories of watching TV. I'd add:
Three's Company
Different Strokes
Silver Spoons
80's TV.

Les always had a Band-Aid somewhere on his face or head

Bought the First Season DVD set a few years ago...and quickly realized something was missing (a lot of the music and a few scenes I remembered from watching the first time). Found out that because of licensing issues/costs for songs, they redubbed and used studio music, but that because of that, some entire scenes had to be cut. While my kids liked them, I was disappointed.
HOWEVER, in late 2014, Shout Factory re-released the entire series and had gotten licenses or permission to use about 90-05% of the original music (and had recovered almost all of the deleted scenes). It's not perfect, but it's a close as you are going to get.
Needless to say...it's great.
