Just went with Dish today and was wondering everyone's reviews on it.

Thanks!

I've had Dish for 10 years.
The Hopper/Joey is the best receiver I have ever had.

I have Dish but I'm thinking of moving to Direct. Is the Genie they have pretty much the same thing?

I'm about to renew my Directv soon, and will telling them to ship me a Genie free. If not will switch to Dish.

I'm going to do the same thing. My DVR is painfully slow.

For those of you with Directv, don't give up your old dvr's with the upgrade. Move the old dvr's into rooms with standard boxes and keep the recording space. I can record 11 channels at once. It comes in handy when you want to give all the new shows a shot during premier weeks.

I did the whole I'm going to cancel thing. I have 3 dvrs,aGenie and two hd boxes . I got them to do the rf remotes on all the boxes so I could put them in the closet and not have any boxes in the rooms. They started at 299.00 I finally got it for 49.00 and rebates on premium channels to cover that cost. Most of the time call and ask for customer retention and they get you taken care of. If that does not work send an email something like this.I have been a customer for XX years and paid your company XX. If you take the time and break down what you have paid to them over the years in an email you can get it taken care of. I told the guy in the email that I often recommend their company on message boards and that's word of mouth advertising that could not be purchased for what I am asking for in return. He agreed and I got the upgrades.
