It's like you didn't even read the thread.

Corporate Jesus would be ashamed of you.

Bump. I just watched and really liked it. Ian McShane is awesome.

Also, are Shadow and Audrey gonna get it on?

I forgot it was tonight. Just put it on but prob won't finish it tonight. Folks on this board don't seem to enjoy it much based on responses.

Will check in tomorrow to see if anyone wants to discuss.

I just like the book soooo much more. Good casting, though

I'm all about it. I like how weird it is. Orlando jones killed that opening. Peter stormare (Slavic god) is a great actor

Loved the second episode...

Nailed the casting for Czernobog & the Zorya sisters..

Show really picking up now. Looking forward to the ride.

Aspercel did you watch? It was probably even more weird than the first episode, but I enjoyed it. Still trying to figure out the guy floating through outer space with an erection.. Strange.

I hate the teasers for next week because obviously we know Shadow isn't going to die in the third episode. Guess we have to see how he wiggles out of his deal.

I ordered the first book on Amazon.

At the time, I just took it as trying to convey just how good hitting that would be. Some kinda "SPACE ORGASM">!>!>
Nothing more to it. More stealing sex mojo to wear some jewelry. Not quite enough yet

I viewed it as where they go once she takes them in..

I have to say, if you have to go, death by vagina is pretty awesome.

I didn't even think about that. When they talked to the show creators after the first one they were referencing how that scene is described in the book. I'm looking forward to reading that.

I watched episodes one and two back to back and that really helped I think. This show, like the novel, is a confusing morass for a bit, but by episode 2, the viewer should begin to understand that there are 2 factions, the New and Old gods, that are warring and that Wednesday is at least one of the old gods (even if the viewer doesn't know which one yet, despite the clues) and Shadow is somehow important. The viewer should also feel a bit like he's going crazy because Shadow feels that way.

The show has a great tone and feel, and I'm glad it added in a bit of black arse humor in episode 2. Gaiman's black humor is part of what makes his novels so great, so to carry that over, in the midst of all this fricked up narrative, I think is imperative.

Color me impressed and hooked. Can't wait for Ep 3.

Very impressed that no one has come in here to complain about the erect penises. This is a good day for the M/TV Board

I'm liking the show so far even if I'm a bit confused. Agent Scully as Lucy talking to Shadow through me a bit. So the new gods are actors and other media personalities? Not sure who Wednesday is, I'm thinking Thor (lightening and hammer talk) or Lucifer because he comes across so shady. I do like the aspect of trying to figure out who is who though. So I guess the new and old gods are fighting over the attention of the masses?? Old gods have actual powers and the new gods have easy access to the masses? When Agent Scully said you want to see Lucy's tits I was like yes please.

The episode was OK but they are taking liberties and changing things up a lot.

They skipped over a major part last night in Shadows hotel room.
Shadow does not see Lucille Ball talk to him in the department store.
The girl in Wednesday bed was actually a young waitress they met while eating at a diner. She waited on the two while they shared a conversation.

The opening scene with Mr. Nancy and his speech is no where in the book at all.

Neither was the other Coming to America segment with the Vikings. Who gives a shite? Ibis is setting up the playing field.

All of this stuff passed Gaiman's approval, so I really have no issues with them exploring other parts of the world or taking minor liberties with the story. Besides I'm pretty sure Media does talk to him through a TV show and I think it was I Love Lucy. But it's been 8 or 10 years since I read the book.
