The most telling thing is the marketing. The entire cast booked appearances on late night (not individually) and that was a month ago. Tv spots have been rare. I didn't see a trailer in theaters and I've seen a few movies this summer
All of that tells me Sony didn't spend money advertising because they're already writing it off as a flop. Studios have been wrong before, especially Sony so who knows. Everything points to a bomb though but audiences will decide

I hope this movie fails hard. I actually think the first trailer that was posted on here is probably the most honest and truthful one.
He wanted this movie to be good and he thought it sucked badly.

I don't often root for failure, but it's really irresponsible to burn cash on something like this. They didn't listen to people, in fact dismissed them as sexist motherfrickers (oh yeah, that's sure to improve your take) and they're about to learn a hard lesson.
People want their commercial diarrhea free of social and political commentary. Save it fr some low budget Oscar bait movie or indie art house flick

I'm a college-aged kid and I can tell you that no one my age is even really talking about it. The only talk I've heard about this movie from my age group is "Did you hear they're ruining ghostbusters?"

It will make $30 million opening weekend.
But the media will report it as $300 million and nobody will be the wiser.

Has anyone been in a theater when the preview appears? No one laughs, and no one reacts. There is little enticing folks to come back and see this.

I'm not seeing it. No SJW has the authority nor ability to force me to.

There's no such thing as bad press. The negative stuff will get this into $70-80 million territory, which will be a success.

Industry tracking has had it at $40-$50 million for a while now.
I'll split the difference and go w/$45 million.
