Also, when they showed the engineer being standing outside of the weird space craft at the beginning of Prometheus, and he chugs the black sauce, convulses, speed rots and dies. Is that on the Prometheus planet? Or is that on the engineer home world that they were heading to at the end of Prometheus?

clearly i'm going to have to watch prometheus again. can't remember much about it at all.

When they step on that egg and the black powder stuff flies up, that's the same little speck that's in the water the person drinks in Prometheus right ?

The engineer drinks the black fluid because he is "seeding" the planet.
In this case, earth.
His DNA breaks down and plants the seed for what will be human beings. They were responsible for the first single celled organisms on our planet.
Shaw confirms this later in the movie when she discovers that humans and engineers share the same DNA. It was a "match".

They better still have live engineers to explain wtf they were doing on the planet from Prometheus and why they wanted to kill the humans.

The xenomorph is called "the perfect organism" by ash in alien - 1979.
We even see the xenomorph figure in the temple in prometheus in a "christ like" pose on the wall.
The engineers were trying to create this "perfect organism". I believe it was very much revered by these beings and their society.
In the planet seeding scene in prometheus, there is a deleted scene that shows many engineers on earth in robes performing a religious type ceremony during the planet seeding process.
The pursuit of the perfect organism by the engineers is paramount.
David even says in prometheus "to create one must destroy."
Perhaps the engineers were out to "destroy" humanity to create something greater - the xenomorph or an early iteration of one.

Prometheus lost a lot of continuity of story in editing if you believe the interviews given by the filmmakers afterwards. my understanding is that the P planet was an outpost of sorts where they stored the black goo knowing how dangerous it was when in contact with other living organisms. It destroys in order to create
as to why the engineers were going to go back to earth and do a reset I do not know. that was what Shaw was intending to find out
