You know what I'm talking about. For instance, in every role played by Matthew McConaughey, he is, in fact, playing Matthew McConaughey.

Any others?

Oooo, I've been waiting for this thread

Denzel Washington (post-Training Day)
Liam Neeson (post-Taken)
Ben Affleck
Leonardo Dicaprio (post Shutter Island)
Adam Sandler
Zach Galifianakis (haven't seen Campaign, so that may be an exception)
Owen Wilson
Luke Wilson
Steven Seagal (every movie he's ever been in--top 5 worst actors ever)
Katherine Heigl
Jennifer Aniston
Michael Cera
Vince Vaughn
Kate Hudson
Ryan Reynolds
Justin Long
Jason Bateman

Will think of more as they come

His basically plays his "brother" Seth in that one.

I think he's very good as a comedian and as an actor he has a lot more potential than just playing idiots.

Check out "Between Two Ferns" on Youtube. They are short skits where he interviews celebrities with awkward questions... funny stuff.

Good one. That reminds me of Jack McBrayer, because they both started as secondary characters on an NBC show. They're still playing the same guy years later.

It can be argued that most actors/actresses play themselves.

Spinoff thread/
Which actors/actresses have played a large variety of different roles? I'll go first:

Yeah Seth Rogen, good lord man.

I thought Leo did a pretty good job with Howard Hughes, but otherwise agree on him.
