I dont think i can think of any outside of Tom Cruise.

Cruise can do drama, comedy, action hero, romcom, etc...

I would say Tom Hanks, but i cannot picture him as an Action Hero.

I will watch anything John C. Reilley is in. Can't picture him as an action star either though.

Is the list limited to men or is actors a more general term?

If women are included then I have to go with Meryl Streep. She is fricking amazing.

Robert Downey Jr.
Sean Penn
Tony Leung
Javier Bardem
Jake Gyllenhaal

I wish he would get back to doing more dramas.

It's not Sly Stallone action but Hanks was excellent as a hitman in Road to Perdition. Tom Cruise needs to do more drama or even comedy and quit trying to prove he's not old.

Dicaprio can't carry a film. In all his great performances he's outshined by someone else

Yes. Tom hanks is the answer. I can't think of any movie he has been in that was anyway near bad. Maybe the burbs. But that's it. Everything this guy does turns into something great.
