That's kind of surprising. What's the deal with him?
he has a rep for semi hijacking projects to essentially be his own writer/director.

Supposedly most of the cast of Castle hated Nathan Fillion. Stana Katic apparently had enough of him and refused to come back for next season, which is probably why they canceled the series.
See, I heard it was the other way around...that she was a bitch to the cast and it rubbed him the wrong way. That he hosted a wrap party for everyone and she made it a point not to show up.
Nathan Fillion always struck me as being a cool guy, so I tend to believe this story.

A friend of mine is in a welder's Union in the industry in L.A. He said that Eddie Murphy does not like the crew looking at him; and goes nuts if they do.
They once had to build walls from Murphy's trailer to the set so no one would look at him.

The general rule to go by is: the later in life you find success, the more graciously you handle it.
I did an event with Jimmy Smits, and he stayed several hours after it was over to talk to every single fan who wanted to. I was his shadow, and asked him if he's always that accommodating.
He told me that he was kind of a prick when he blew up during the LA Law years, but that he was humbled by basically disappearing for years until he finally began to come back in Star Wars, The West Wing, etc.
Diane Keaton and her (possibly lesbian) BFF Carol Kane were horrible, horrible people. I now can't stand either one of them.

Daniel Day Lewis because he never comes out of character.
Imagine filming Gangs of New York and dealing with Bill the Butcher all day.

Dated an actress from New Orleans in 2005. Was hard to work with her.
You should have taken the promotion, and not stayed a busboy.

Those are method actors. I don't really think they count. You know what you're getting when you sign on with them. It's not like they're being dicks just for the hell of it. Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Joaquin Phoenix are some examples of people who refuse to break character on the set. I'd rather hang out with Bill the Butcher for 4 months than Heath Ledger's Joker.

I met a guy who is kind of up the "Hollywood South" food chain at a party. He's rattling off all of the stars he's worked with. He mentions John C. Reilly, and I say, "He seems like he'd probably be fun to be around."
The film industry guy proceeds to tell me that JCR is probably the biggest prick he's ever met, total a-hole, everybody hates working with him, blah, blah, blah. I started laughing because I was sure he was fricking with me. Nope, no joke, he really can't stand John C. Reilly.

A lot of time it has to do with what the interaction is. Some actors probably don't like being famous or want some privacy. I can see them getting annoyed to a point. But I think most people learn no matter what the profession or pay grade, if you don't treat co-workers respectfully, you aren't going to be as productive as you can be.

I'm going far back. From listening the commentary on Creature From the Black Lagoon, the guy on the right, Richard Carlson, was not liked by most even by some not involved with the film:
and this guy on the right from Route 66, Martin Milner:

I've heard that Kevin James is an insufferable arrogant a-hole and completely full of himself. Which is funny because everything he's ever done is terrible and his career would have been over a decade ago if it wasn't for Adam Sandler.
