Let's just say I have a lot of down time at work on nightshift. Popping in Fargo tonight. Read some good stuff about it. What says the Movie board?

I assumed the show would be mediocre because the movie was so good.

I was wrong.

Then I thought season 2 would be a letdown because season 1 was so good.

I was wrong again.

I haven't watched season 3 yet.

Season 1 is one of the best seasons of television ever.

And season 2, and season 3. They are all outstanding, and yet different. That's not an easy thing to pull off.

Season 1 is great.

Season 2 is equal to or better than Season 1.

Season 3 is quirky and somewhat interesting but nowhere near as good as the first two seasons.

I finally got around to watching Season 1 on Hulu about a month ago and really liked it. All the performances were very good. Haven't got a chance to start Season 2 yet but will at some point.

let's just say I've had far too many nights of going to bed at 1 am because I can't stop binging season 3.

It's one of the best shows on TV.

Different story and different time period. Though one character did make if from season 1 into season 3. And there is a little spill over from season 2 into season 1 (which happened decades later). And there are sly nods between the seasons and all of the Coen's movies. But each season is a different story.

could not disagree more. Season 3 has been fantastic thus far. I'm on episode 8. All have been equally great IMO. The writing, casting and acting is refreshingly consistent.

yeah I lost interest a few episodes in to this last season, didn't really hook me like the 1 & 2 but I'll finish it off soon.

2 was awesome but ended kind of flat

The movie is one of my all-time favorite movies, so I avoided the TV series, as there was no way it could measure up. I was wrong. The show is terrific, and anchored by some spectacular performances. They do a good job of making it movie-adjacent and not disturbing the self-contained story.

Noah Hawley is one of the best people working in TV right now. I'll watch anything he's connected with now.
