Let me clarify that I'm not looking for the greatest films in cinema, although some certainly may be applicable. What I'm talking about is a movie where everything just works. The cast, their chemistry, the plot, possibly action, possibly humor, even the score.

For me, the Clooney Ocean's 11 is a perfect movie. I mean, everything about it works. The cast has fantastic chemistry, especially Clooney/ Pitt/ Damon. Carl Reiner is wonderful. Andy Garcia is a delightfully despicable villain. The plot payoff in the end is so well executed. And the score is full of jazzy Vegas. Love it, love everything about it.

The Dark Knight has to be close for me. Especially for a superhero popcorn flick. I feel none of them released since has matched its greatness.

Dirty Harry - still the hallmark police thriller
Grease - a great blend of cheese, music and ONJ in the leather pants
Toy Story - perfect casting right down to the supporting characters
Tin Cup - Costner nails the washed-up, self-destructive jock, strong supporting cast, and good music
Jaws - "You're gonna need a bigger boat"

I think I've seen a category/question like this before and Wizard of Oz was pretty high up there.

Trading Places

(Everything about it works, all the actors, the pacing, the dialogue, the story, etc) There's not a bad moment let alone a scene in that movie.

Jaws has some bad moments - the wife for instance and drags a little in the middle.

I would put the original Raiders up there too...with Wall Street.

I thought the same after first seeing it in the theater. Still great, but not my perfect movie.

My answer is Dazed and Confused.

Cast and crew in all killed it with the movie "Feast" to me. A horror/comedy.

It is the top 1 of my g.o.a.t. extremely liked movies to date.

Oceans 11 is an absolute blast. Some recent films that I really love are The Departed, The Prestige, and Wolf of Wall Street.

GATTACA is near perfection. Except for the contacts issue.
