The 2 that immediately come to mind are Schindler's List and Murder In the First.
I never really appreciated the horrors of the Holocaust until Schindler's List, and I never appreciated the depravity of our criminal justice and prison system until Murder In the First.

It's a Wonderful Life: George wants to have a life of adventure and see the world, but when his father dies he puts his dreams on hold so he can run the family business. Lots of other stuff happens, but seeing him put his plans on hold and take responsibility is very powerful. The rest of the movies shows how much we affect the people around us.
I feel like a lot of movies are juvenile wish fulfillment, but this supposedly lighthearted fantasy teaches some real lessons about sacrifice and responsibility.

Watch the Grey Zone. It's even more harrowing.

The basketball diaries, it made me never want to come close to putting shite in my nose or injecting shite in my arm. The fear of sucking dick for drugs kept me away from that stuff

Whatever it takes I guess.

I'll second that. Talk about a disturbing movie...

Most recently - The Dance of Reality, it was mesmerizing.
Harvey - If you grew up around alcoholism, this is sure to give you the feels.

How do I get 3 down votes for 12 Years A Slave?
Is that not a disturbing movie that stays with you a while?

Dead Poet is a solid choice.
Has Requiem been mentioned yet? I have to seriously take a walk or nap or something to reset after that movie.
But my submission:
Yall can make fun of me, but have any of you seen Inside Out?
It was great. They way they explored emotions and how they tie together and maturity and how your mind changes was great.
SPOILER for Inside out
BingBong's death smacked me right in the feels. She was so sad for so long and finally found the thing that made her happy and it had to die and be forgotten forever in order for her to go on. Brutal. Because the truth in that scene is an annoying truth you have to admit.
Alot of times in life you have to give up your childhood dreams and joys to move forward and after a while you forget about them all together.
I know. It's a Pixar movie for kids. But that scene hit me.

It's considered weak in these parts to sympathize with such blatant black propaganda.

"About Time" - the scene where he goes back in time to be with his father for the last time always brings the feels.
"The Christmas Toy" - simply put, the most emotional cartoon I've ever seen.
"Toy Story 3" - if you didn't tear up as the toys locked hands going into the fire, you don't have a soul
"The Usual Suspect" - ending had me in WTF!? mode for days
"The Prestige" - see The Usual Suspects
