It's in my top five. I'm fairly certain that Malcolm McDowell made this movie. One of the best performances ever committed to celuloid.

This was a great movie IMO. The style of the film is what made me like it. I really just liked the raw cruelty of Alex.

A bit cold and pointless

Come with uncle and hear all proper. Hear angel trumpets and devil trombones. You...are...invited!

Well it was brutal. But it was very similar to Funny Games I thought. I loved Funny Games.

this movie freaks me out, especially the opening scene in the milk bar. very interesting movie that one can probably see multiple times.

I've always been a big fan of this movie. I remember them showing this at the Student Union theater when I was at Southeastern. A lot of people walked out about 20 minutes in. There was also a guy dressed as Alex. Had the fake eyelash and the clothing to a T. It was cool.

Interesting trivia. At the end of the movie, the strong guy carrying him down the stairs was David Prowse. The actor who was actually in the Darth Vader suit in the first 3 Star Wars movies.

I picked up this movie earlier this week, but I haven't watched it yet. I've been wanting to see it for a long time, but I just never got around to it. I am highly interested in finally watching it, but at the same time I am keeping my expectations low, as that is the easiest way to not be disappointed.

My question is, what is the ideal set up to watch this flick? Dark, loud, alone, quiet, does not matter, etc? Do I need to have my translator from the book ready (have not read the book), or is the slang easy to pick up on?

The slang can be tough, at first. But you pick up on it after awhile. It may take a second viewing to really pick up on the early stuff.

As far as what environment to watch in, I'd go with dark and quiet. Helps take in all of the movie.

I saw Funny Games this past weekend.

That was awesome. No background music made it very creepy. You had no idea what was about to happen.

And I wanted to whip the hell out of those pricks.

watched it again this weekend and it gets better with each viewing.

the way the audience is manipulated into hating alex and then rooting for him is incredible.

I completely agree that this does get better every time I watch it. I see something a little different every time.

I've been wanting to see this so bad. But it looks like one of those movies that leaves you feeling very weird, like I'd have to take a couple of days to mentally prepare for it

My health won't allow it.

Thanks to Opie and Anthony, this movie and "The Shining" are both comedies to me now.

About what I expected. Glad I watched, but I don't really have any strong feelings one way or the other. I thought it held up well for an older movie. I did really like the use of Beethoven, and the interesting look at social engineering by government.
