Mid to late 80's.....
Lead guy sang, played guitar and piano (I think).......
Love struck about a girl (I think)......
I know that is not a lot to go on, but that is all I kind of remember.....TIA

Tuff Turf (1985) features James Spader playing the piano and singing in one scene, and Robert Downey Jr. is a part of a rock band, but I doubt that is the one you are thinking about.
