Yellow 50 yard marker in NFL games...why?

Anyone else notice that the 50 yard marker on NFL fields are now yellow? I know it's not a big deal by I'm curious why the change.
Any ideas?

Right... But he's partially right. 50th anniversaries are referred to as golden anniversaries and it's the super bowls 50th anniversary. So that's specifically why it's gold. He was just wrong by saying it is the NFL's 50th anniversary.

Keeping it gold after this season would be pointless. I think having a giant fricking logo at midfield signifies their location well enough.

It's not just the 50 yardline. The logo (NFL shield) and NFL word marks are in gold this year

No, it's not "the Super Bowls 50th anniversary." It's the 50th Super Bowl game. The 50th anniversary of the 1st Super Bowl would be the 51st game.

That definitely WON'T happen. They have a whole style guide just for Super Bowl 50. The NFL is all-in with the gold this season. But, fear not, you can get some sweet merch!
