I commute to a different time zone, so i leave early in the morning. It seems every commercial is from the US Forest Service, The USDA, or the AD Council. Almost no business advertise at this time. Is it like that anywhere else?

I've never heard a commercial from any of those departments

Would it be a bad thing if overnight sports talk didn't survive?

You don't hear any of the local businesses on at that hour. Only the feds and huge corporations.

" I'm a banana slug, your sense of adventure."

Must be nice.

Radio stations do have to take so many commercials a month from government. part of agreement with FCC.

I guess that would make sense that they play most at less lucrative 'non peak' hours.
