This just seems to be the least compelling race ever. I mean, there is just no excitement. None of the candidates have had absolutely stellar, flawless years, whether that be because of turnover numbers (Watson) or because of losses (Jackson, Mayfield & Westbrook). It is also easy to make a case for why some of the finalists shouldn't be finalists.

2013 was pretty bad with the clear cut winner mired in rape allegations.

He deserved to win though, which is the difference.

No one deserves to win it this year.

It's a shame the Heisman has become a team award. At least in the last 10 years, there have been better individuals playing on sub-par teams that deserve to have won it more than the team competing for the NC.

If we had a candidate that had a stellar, flawless year, how would that make it more compelling?

07 Tebow
11 RGIII
12 Manziel

All last ten years. None were NC contenders.

The RBs for San Diego St and Texas may be the two best players in the country, and they didn't even get invites

I think it's super dated to feel like we have to award the Heisman to someone who is basically in NC contention. I know there have been a few exceptions to that (like RG3), but still. It is certainly possible to be the best player and not play for the best team or carry your team to an undefeated record alone. The award should go to the best player.

Foreman should have gotten an invite, same for Cook.

Nothing against Oklahoma, but how did they get two to be invited to NY?

Yeah not sure how Westbrook got an invite. There is a receiver every season that puts up similar numbers and they generally never get invites

I really would have 0 problem with Lamar Jackson winning it. Guy was absolutely electric both throwing and running the ball this year

Last year was a two-player race before the voters and media started flaunting "all purpose yards" to get a white running back who returned kicks in the race

It's also a shame that the only players with a chance to win it are QBs and RBs.

Do they ever? It's always been just one of the best RBs or QBs on one of the best teams.

Worst in my memory, can't believe they invited Peppers, Westbrook, and Mayfield

I think the Heisman has lost alot of its allure and appeal. The last few years I just don't seem to care about it.
