jesus. talk about getting fricked on one hole. he played that hole better than anyone all day, and gets rewarded with a triple bogey.
If he makes the shot that hit the flag, he's sitting at 7 under right now. If he missed it, but tapped in eagle, he's sitting at 6 under. Nope, instead he's at 1 under. Has to be frustrating as hell. He's outplaying everyone right now except maybe Day and he's way behind the lead.

We are eating breakfast here in Augusta and an our waiter who is probably in his 70s just busted out the rule book and threw it on the table of a group of younger guys who were arguing that Tiger should not have any penalty.
Apparently they take their golf rules very seriously around here.

There was a rule change in 2012. The new rule is fair and makes complete sense. The only reason why you all have your panties in a bunch is because it is Woods.

He did get screwed with bad luck on that one hole. Luckily this is usually when he goes super low. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's in the final group tomorrow.

My only problem is that he clearly stated he was trying to move farther back because his first shot was too long.
It doesn't matter that he did not know the rule. He broke it to clearly bettered himself and the shot.

Yep. And rules are rules per all the golf peeps around here. They say he can stay so why should he "man up" and DQ himself if it's about their interpretation of the rule?
